1) WOLVES v MAN CITY
Kevin De Bruyne was the hero for Man City, scoring a first-half hat-trick before adding a fourth in a 5-1 thrashing of Wolves at Molineux; City need four more points to retain Premier League title
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, speaking to Sky Sports: “We played really well in this stadium we know how difficult it is. Three points, rest and then West Ham.”
On Kevin de Bruyne: “He has played the last two or three months especially in the Premier League outstanding, and in the Champions League as well. He has been our key man in this part of the season.
“It is not just what he creates and the goals and everything. He helps us a lot. I am happy because Kevin is so generous and always thinking the best for the team but this year is also the most prolific for him.
“Always we concede a goal when we don’t deserve. In that moment we were in control. We concede goal but after we found a goal quickly and that helped us a lot.”
On Haaland signing: “It is a decision for the club to make a good sign for the future. He can come for many, many years hopefully and I am pretty sure he will adapt perfectly to our team but for next season.
“The players make you a good manager. He is an incredible young talent, perfect age. I am pretty sure we are going to help him settle as best possible.”

2) ASTON VILLA v LIVERPOOL
Goals from Joel Matip and Sadio Mane saw Liverpool come from behind to defeat Aston Villa at Villa Park after Douglas Luiz’s early goal; Jurgen Klopp’s side now level on points with Manchester City
Klopp said: “Massive, outstanding, incredible mentality. We changed five of the team so we needed time to find our way into the game and the opponent was there from the beginning. The main issue was losing balls in the wrong areas. From there, it is difficult to get any rhythm.
“In the last 10 minutes of the first half, we began controlling the game. We scored the second incredible goal, Luis [Diaz] sensational, Sadio [Mane] made the world of it.
“Then, you have to dig deep. Yes, they had moments, a big chance with Ingsy [Danny Ings]. If my players were not as good as they are I would be here talking about different stuff but their quality and mentality is the reason why we are where we are.”
Gerrard said: “We have to take those big moments we created in the game. I am slightly frustrated we didn’t score more than once. The positive for me is that we were courageous and went toe to toe with the best team in the world. I am extremely proud.
“I’m sure Danny [Ings] is going to play one or two of those moments in his head on the way home. I am delighted with what Danny brings to the team. He should be proud of what he brought, he worked his socks off. The positive for me is that we created good chances.”
3) LEEDS v CHELSEA
Mason Mount, Christian Pulisic and Romelu Lukaku secure a 3-0 win for Chelsea; Leeds had Daniel James sent off in the first half; Jesse Marsch’s side remain 18th in the Premier League table
Leeds boss Jesse Marsch told Sky Sports: “It was similar to the Arsenal match, where we don’t really even give ourselves a chance to get going, but the guys fought hard, they never stopped, they ran, tried to play and competed for each other.
“Obviously, we’re disappointed, but right now, we can’t feel sorry for ourselves. If we get stuck thinking negative things and worrying about why things happened or what happened, then we won’t prepare ourselves for Sunday, so that has to be our total focus.”
On James’ red card, he added: “I think he was aggressive and thought he could win a ball in the middle there, but wound up being a bit over-zealous.
“Now we lose Dan for the rest of the season, so it obviously hurts but that’s where we are now and we have to stick together and be ready for the next challenge.”
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel told Sky Sports: “We needed a performance like that and it was the foundation for the result. We deserved to win and that’s the best message because it’s a tough place to play.
4) WATFORD v EVERTON
Everton are frustrated by already-relegated Watford; hosts keep a first clean sheet in the league this season at Vicarage Road; Leeds’ defeat against Chelsea boosts Everton’s survival hopes
Everton manager Frank Lampard speaking to Sky Sports: “There is work to be done but if you look at our recent results we have put ourselves in a decent position.
“There were not enough clear chances. But if you are not at your best you need to make sure you pick up a point. That is not something we’ve done often enough this season.
“Watford had players playing with something to lose. They had nothing on the game and sometimes that can be difficult to come against. They gave us a game.”
On whether he was paying attention to the Leeds United result: “At half-time and at the end of the game I was told the result. You can’t control that but all in all it’s not a bad night.
“It doesn’t always go your way but if it doesn’t, you take the clean sheet and move on.”
5) LEICESTER v NORWICH
Leicester claim their first Premier League win for a month thanks to second-half goals from Jamie Vardy and James Maddison; Norwich missed good opportunities in a first half that saw Kasper Schmeichel and Angus Gunn pull off stunning saves at each end
Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers: “I thought it was a good win for us. Bit slow in the first half, both in our game with the ball and our counter pressing. We were not aggressive enough but in the second half from the first roll of the ball I thought the players were outstanding.
“Overall very pleased for the players. Angus made some great saves. We finished the game really well. Really good goals. We kept going right to the end.
“Jamie has missed a lot of games this season but it is more about the collective. The finishes were great, we always have to manage him. For us it is about the team.”
Aim to finish the season strongly? “That’s the plan, finish as high as we can. We didn’t want the season to go out with a whimper. Tonight was a good performance and a good result.”
