The England C squad has been announced full of the best non league players right now and it’s got plenty of people talking this Sunday.
A non-League Lions squad, made up of players from the National League and below, will travel to Caernarfon in March, the first open-age squad since 2008.
England C will meet Wales C for a third International Challenge Match in March 2022 with tickets expect to sell well for this encounter.
Paul Fairclough will take a squad of open-age players who represent clubs from the National League and below to the Oval, home of Caernarfon Town, on Wednesday 30 March 2022 (7pm GMT kick-off).
The two teams were scheduled to last meet in March 2020, but the game was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Their last clash at the Peninsula Stadium in Salford in 2019 saw the two teams play out a 2-2 draw, while the non-League Lions earned a 3-2 victory at Barry Town United’s Jenner Park in 2018.
“We’re really pleased to confirm that we’ve accepted an invitation to play this fixture against Wales C,” said England C manager Fairclough.
“The last two encounters between the two sides have provided plenty of entertainment and a platform for the players to progress their careers, so we’re looking forward to what should be an exciting game for all involved.”
Mark Jones, who has taken charge of the previous two fixtures in the Wales C hotseat, will once again oversee proceedings for the hosts in Caernarfon.
And he added: “After missing out on this occasion in 2020 due to the pandemic, we’re more excited than ever to be welcoming England C to the Oval.
“It will be a fantastic occasion in what will be a momentous week for Welsh football.”
The Vanarama National League and the Pitching In Isthmian, Northern Premier and Southern Football Leagues will be providing funding for England C in the fixture.
