In June 2024, he admitted to speeding, and this week, he appeared at Salford Magistrates Court by video link on Thursday, to discover his punishment, in which he was handed a £1,666 fine in addition to his driving ban was ordered to pay a £666 victim surcharge and £120 in court costs, having earlier provided a guilty plea in relation to to a single speeding offence.
“Rashford said that the reason he was speeding was because he was being followed by a white vehicle and asked if I had seen it at the lights,” the officer, who stopped Rashford, said, per the MEN. “He also said he thought that I was the white vehicle following him.
“I said I had not and would review the video footage from the vehicle. I also told him he needs to call 999 if he feels he is being followed, he said it happens all the time and that he would be calling us every day. I then told him to slow down, and he went on his way whilst I reviewed the footage.
“On reviewing the footage due the duration from when he overtook me up until stopping him on Eden Park Road, I have not seen any evidence of a white vehicle following him. I also noted that on realising he was being followed he has slowed down and his speed was within 5mph of the speed limit.”

This incident occurred three months after Rashford crashed a Rolls Royce Black Badge Wraith into a traffic island in September of the same year, with footage showing the extent of the accident on social media.
He was uninjured but left shaken with his vehicle seriously damaged, as broken parts of the car could be seen scattered all over the road, ‘near the club’s Carrington training complex not long after he had left.’
His Man Utd teammates returned from Burnley by coach before getting in their personal vehicles to head back to their homes after the game.
Police soon turned up to the scene, with parts of vehicle left strewn sideways across the road with traffic appearing to be halted with officers investigating and clearing what was left behind.
As seen in the video footage, the traffic island toppled over just metres from where he pulled over onto the side of the road.
Bruno Fernandes had reportedly stopped his car, got out and helped him.
He went on to sell his wrecked Rolls Royce at auction for a fraction of the original price.
