Marcus Rashford had to be pulled away by fellow Man Utd teammates after confronting the heckling from a fan in the stand.
The 26 year old was not in the starting lineup for the Premier League clash at Old Trafford, as he had recently returned from an injury.
He eventually came on and helped United secure a 3-2 victory after goals from Kobbie Mainoo, Amad Diallo and Rasmus Hojlund.
Prior to the contest, however, he took issue with a fan who was giving the forward stick after an underwhelming season for the player.
Christian Eriksen came and tried to turn Rashford’s attention away from that and looked unhappy, having been booed by some fans over the course of the campaign.

Rashford hasn’t spoken on the incident, but instead took to socials to express delight with the win.
“It’s a special feeling to say that I have played 400 times for United,” he said. “Thank you.”
Despite scoring 30 goals in all competitions last season, Rashford’s performance seems to have dropped away this term, with only eight goals to his name.
Players such as Alejandro Garnacho, Scott McTominay, Hojlund, and Bruno Fernandes have outscored him. As a result of his struggles, Rashford has been linked with a move away from United.
Wayne Rooney feels it might be time for Marcus Rashford to exit Man Utd, with the club needing a ‘massive clear out’ of players.
‘We all know Marcus has the ability to play at the top level. I just wonder if it’s time for Marcus to go and play elsewhere. I don’t know. He has to ask himself that question,’ Rooney said on Sky Sports.
‘I want him to stay and break records at this club. But he needs to get his head right, get his head down, work hard and get back to the player we know he can be.’
‘You have to build the team around Bruno, he is the one player with quality and he has fight in him,’ Rooney said. ‘[I’d keep] the young players. And then all the other players, get rid of them.
‘It has to be a massive clear out. It won’t be in one year, but it’s going to be in the next couple of years.’
This is what Twitter users had to say with footage showing Marcus Rashford pulled away by Man Utd teammates after confronting heckling from a fan in the stand…
@mancitycollect: He was the Lord and saviour a few seasons back. Proper fickle fan base this lot.
@pitchsidepundt: This is pathetic, Rashford needs to score and silence such fans.
@DuyolsY: Those “Supporters need some shame”
@United_roadMUFC: Fans like this can fuck off, I hate it. & NO just because you pay your money it doesn’t give you the right to shout abuse, you’re supposed to back them espec in the ground. Winds me up at games you hear people going “he’s shit etc”. Yes great analyse that #mufc
@Joqsey_: Swear we have the worst fanbase in the world
@CTMUFC96: Oh yeah because that’ll help him play better won’t it 🙄
@ryanmccusker24: His attitude and lack of effort have been absolute disgrace and embarrassment to the club all season. He’s on 350k week only to walk around the pitch playing victim
@kay_mcd12: The only dickhead is the person shouting abuse at Rashford. He’s not a fan. We can all criticise performances/results/all normal but abusing players? No. Not on. Same for booing players – I’ll never understand it. You never do it.
@JamesDixon_PT: Hope this dickhead of a ‘supporter’ is found and let know that’s not how a United fan treats their players 🙏
@RizH0803: But according to some this is “criticism” fuck the lot of you. Gone are the days where fans would do anything to support one of their own. We deserve to suffer if this is how we treat the players on and off the pitch. Pathetic fanbase.
@jonnyescott: Don’t get me wrong, his attitude and performance have been horrific this season to say the least but this is poor from the fan this. We’re better than that
@NeilTheKid: Fully back Rashford here. Supporter my arse. We’ve all got the right to be critical but shouting “oi, dickhead” just screams of react to me, I want attention whilst his mate films it. An obvious lack of intellect and probably a Brent disciple. #mufc #Rashford
@United_Keane23: I actually hate this fanbase at the best of times
@AnnieEaves: This is really shitty. Sure it’ll really help the players.
@gerard_ryan3711: One of our own being treated like this! Absolutely disgusting behavior, feel so sorry for Rashford man 😩 He has had a poor season but everyone has so why abuse him constantly?
@LiamPaddyy: This fan base is fucking simple you call him names and wonder why he reacts? Why go to a game to insult your own players stupidity. You’re lucky it wasn’t Eric Cantona that’s all I’ll say on the matter. Toxic fans wonder why the players don’t want to play.. idiots man.
@_MUFCJames: Not a good supporter 🤢
