We take a look at the latest National League TV selections for later this season as another batch of games have been picked for broadcast.
The campaign’s end is just around the corner and with that in mind, BT Sport have revealed yet more National League matches are to be televised.
The upcoming round of fixtures in the fifth tier of English football gives us a better idea of who are standing out vying for promotion, in and around the playoffs and slipping down at risk of a relegation battle.
NATIONAL LEAGUE STATEMENT:
There will be a Bank Holiday bonus as an extra Vanarama National League game is added to the BT Sport schedule.
We are thrilled to announce that on Monday May 2 there will be another live offering as the promotion race heads towards the final furlong.
At the start of next month, Stockport County’s visit to Chesterfield will get the BT Sport treatment as the cameras roll into the Technique Stadium, kick-off 5.30pm.
If Dave Challinor’s league leaders keep on winning, fans are wondering if it could be the game that the celebrations really start.
There is still one more live slot to be confirmed as we wait to see where the action really is on the final day of the season.
Upcoming live BT Sport matches:
Saturday April 30 – Stockport County vs Boreham Wood (5.20pm)
Monday May 2 – Chesterfield vs Stockport County (5.30pm)
Saturday May 7 – Torquay United vs Chesterfield (12.30pm)
Sunday May 8 – Wrexham vs Stockport County (12.30pm)
Twitter users gave their reaction as the latest National League TV selections for April and May are revealed…
@thomashill2002: 6 days notice. Crap for Stockport fans who’ve already bought tickets and made travel arrangements. Happened to us so many times this season. Judging by the London Stadium announcement earlier this league does not give a single shit about supporters
@ttjck5: Fucking bullshit. Already paid for the train. What will happen now? Lose the money for that 🤣😤
@RuddickGeorge: Get us out of this bloody league
@danfoz81: F#ck BT Sport!
@Gazendo68: It’s a bank holiday. Televise it sure, it’s good for those unfortunate ones who couldn’t get a ticket. But keep the kickoff time the same, that’s the beauty of it being a bank holiday.
@Havoc11uk: No way, this is a joke
@davescounty: Let’s remember it’s good for the fans that couldn’t get tickets but come on we have all made plans and got train tickets this should of been done weeks ago if it was getting changed 🤯🤯🤯
@dkdk1486: Shambles after booking travel at set times
@clare_jeffs: Sorry @btsportfootball but this is disrespectful announcing it a week before the match; think of fans who can no longer go ( @Gillibobs_C for example).
@Gillibobs_C: Thanks @clare_jeffs ….yes it’s ridiculous with a week to go. My 7yr old is so looking forward to it I can’t let him down but have had to massively change plans now which probably involves a very late night or loss of money.
@EthanGreen83: Fuck BT sport
@countyshirts: Chesterfield away next Monday defo 5:20 kick off, confirmed by someone at Chesterfield. Probably going to be utter carnage. Only one direct train home after the game too!
@Robb_Whitehead: Absolute shambles. One week before the game is a joke
@Sam_Armin: Bunch of plonkers

BT RENEW NATIONAL LEAGUE BROADCAST
BT Sport has renewed its exclusive rights to broadcast the National League for a further three years until the end of the 2023/24 season, with more games set to be broadcast than ever before.
BT Sport has been broadcasting live and exclusive coverage of English football’s fifth tier since 2013 and the new deal will see live National League matches shown every week in a regular Saturday slot.
BT Sport’s coverage, led by presenter Matt Smith, follows the regular season championship race plus the exciting end-of-season playoffs as 23 teams battle it out for two precious spots in the Football League.
Alongside Smith are commentators Adam Summerton and Adam Virgo plus a cast of expert pundits including former Norwich City and Barrow striker Grant Holt, former Torquay United manager Chris Hargreaves and former Southport manager Kevin Davies.
Joining them pitchside are regular roving reporters Natalie Quirk and Becky Ives.
Alongside the weekly live match coverage, the BT Sport team bring fans every goal from every National League match in the weekly Vanarama National League Highlights show.
The show is created through an innovative link between BT and students associated with selected National League clubs who receive broadcast training from BT to go on and help create the show.
Simon Green, head of BT Sport, said: “Over the past few years we’ve developed an innovative relationship with the league, including world-first 5G-enabled remote broadcasts and training local students who help create BT Sport’s National League highlights shows.
“The National League remain a valued partner to BT, particularly during the pandemic, in staging last season’s playoff matches and the 2020-21 season.”
