Viewers were left furious at broadcaster Sky Sports for what they said after Leeds’ defeat at Arsenal which took place on Sunday.
The was a backlash from fans tuning into the Premier League fixture with Sky Sports accused of showing bias towards the Whites – despite losing 4-2 against the Gunners.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side have earned plenty of praise throughout the season for their “entertaining” performances which has seen them do better than all of the newly promoted clubs.
However, Mikel Arteta’s side sent Leeds back into the bottom half of the table with goals coming from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (x3) and Hector Bellerin with Pascal Struijk and Helder Costa finding the net for Leeds though it was not enough with Arsenal leapfrogging them into 10th.
This was despite the West Yorkshire outfit dominating in possession and had more passes, though had less shots on goal than the Gunners and made nine more fouls.
Instead of commending Arsenal for their win, Sky Sports instead put a more positive spin on Leeds, and boy did that frustrate viewers.
Speaking at full time, presenter David Jones applauded Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for his hat-trick before adding: “But wasn’t that second half all about Leeds United and the spirit they’ve brought to the Premier League?
“Despite being 4-0 down, they did not give up and kept on playing the same way.”

While Leeds were left hanging their heads in defeat, furious viewers believed Sky Sports painted a different picture in the full time coverage on Leeds’ defeat at Arsenal…
@_NotJames_: As if Sky just said Leeds are the new entertainers 🙄 The Bielsa hype has officially gone nuclear.
@anthonylockton: Post-match on Sky is a Leeds love-in again. Arsenal fans probably fuming. Happy Valentines Day. #LUFC
@the_cros: Did we just win that game? Listening to sky sports you’d think Leeds won. Wankers.
@DanBradford6: This whole loving for Leeds is completely ridiculous, if you turned sky sports on right now you would think Leeds beat Arsenal today
@LedilaDesign: I turned Sky off because I didn’t want to hear the inevitable fawning over Leeds, despite the fact they were 4-0 down, getting gubbed and Arsenal eased off. Instead I see everyone tweeting about it. Twitter off.
@liamoshea66: Leeds must have some sort of contract with sky. They’re so bias it’s unreal
@russafc: “Wasn’t that second half all about Leeds?” Asks the nice man in the Sky studio, after they’ve just been played off the park.
@Green_Gully: Arsenal apparently “really started to worry” after the second goal went in. Second half “all about Leeds and the spirit they have brought to the Premier League”. Christ am I watching Sky or LUTV?
@iAmScott_86: Sky Sports, instead of talking about Arsenal playing well, they’re talking about how memorable a Leeds comeback would be. I’m actually debating cancelling my @SkySports
contract. Sick of the bias shite from their commentary teams.
@Dec_Earth10: Souness just said at half time with a straight face this could be 3-3, the pro Leeds bias sky sports try to ram down your throat is draining

What the managers said…
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta: “[Aubameyang] has been training really good, he wants to get back, he wants to help the team and I could see this week, I had a feeling to put him as the No 9 today and he has done the job.
“The amount of chances we created and the type of goals we scored today really pleased me. The attacking patterns we had today, the confidence that the team had against a team that is constantly pressing you to be comfortable to get out of this situation. Overall, a lot of positives.”
Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa: “When we were building from the back, we didn’t manage to take the ball from our half to their half, there were no surprises for either of the two managers, they knew how we were going to press and they resolved this.
“And we knew how they were going to press us and we didn’t manage to resolve this. And in the second half the opposite happened. In the first half we didn’t defend well. And we didn’t defend well because the ball went from back to front too comfortably, too easily for Arsenal.”
