VIDEO: Arsenal player crashes his £140k Mercedes G-Wagon vehicle

A video has been going viral this week showing an Arsenal player shockingly crashes his £140k Mercedes G-Wagon vehicle on the M25.

The Gunners ace Joe Willock escaped unhurt after footage revealed a terrifying motorway smash, and it’s fair to say it’s reckless driving at best.

The 21-year-old Arsenal player can be seen crashes his £140,000 Mercedes G-Wagon vehicle into a barrier on an M25 slip road.

He ended up losing control at the wheel and his car somehow stayed upright before ending up in the bushes, creating quite a mess across the road surface.

The crash reportedly took place on Saturday afternoon when Willock was on his way to training.

And he went on to play in Arsenal’s 0-0 draw at Leeds the following day, causing changes to the Premier League table, before being subbed off just before the hour mark.

An eyewitness told the Daily Mail: “I didn’t know who he was. He was a bit shaken, but fine.

“I got out of the car and I went to his window, which was blacked out. You could see that he was trying to reverse back out of the verge.

“The back wheel was missing but you could see the hub spinning out. He wound the window down and I said: ‘You can’t reverse’. He let out a big scream.

“I said, ‘You went around the corner a bit fast’.

“He said, ‘I know, I’m an idiot’. He said he was on his way to training, for Arsenal.

“He got out and said, ‘Do you think it’s a write off?’. I said, ‘I’m no expert, but I think so – you have half a tree in your front bumper’.”

It comes a week after a former Arsenal player (trialist) turned South Africa’s World Cup star Anele Ngcongca sadly died after he crashes his vehicle at the age of 33 years old.

The former international, who once had a trial at the Gunners when 19 years old, was killed in a car accident on Monday, according to the country’s IPSS Medical Rescue service.

In a statement on their website, IPSS Medical Rescue said it responded to a single vehicle roll-over on the N2 highway near Mtunzini in South Africa.

“On arrival of IPSS advanced life support paramedics, they found an adult male lying approximately 30m from the wrecked vehicle. The man showed no signs of life and was declared dead by paramedics,” said the statement.

According to the IPSS, a female driver was trapped in the wreckage having sustained “critical injuries” but was freed and quickly taken to hospital.

Ngcongca had been playing for AmaZulu on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns to AmaZulu, and both sides from the top tier of South African football, paid tribute to the defender following the accident.

“AmaZulu FC and Mamelodi Sundowns FC extend their deepest condolences to the Ngcongca family, former clubs, teammates, supporters, and the broader football fraternity as well as everyone who was touched by the life of this exceptional football ambassador,” said a joint statement from the two clubs.

Ngcongca helped the Sundowns win a domestic treble last season, represented the South African national team more than 50 times including at the 2010 World Cup on home soil.

Then a few weeks ago, reports emerged that ex-Everton and Chelsea player Samuel Eto’o was in hospital following a car crash in his homeland.

Samuel Eto’o was sent for further examinations over a head injury after his vehicle was hit by a bus when he drove back from a wedding in Cameroon.

The collision is said to have happened near Nkongsamba, thankfully however he insists he is fine, and no one died as a result of the crash, a miracle after seeing the latest pictures of the incident.

Journalist Martin Camus says he has spoken with the 39-year-old retired footballer, who wanted to reassure people that he was doing well.

“The crushed car Samuel Eto’o was in. I can confirm that he is fine, we spoke again. Doctors taking care of additional examinations.”

Pictures show the huge extent of damage on the front of Eto’o’s car with security sources saying that a driver for one travel agency caused the accident.

The driver hit two cars including Samuel Eto’o’s convoy, then the driver tried to leg it away from the scene, before getting caught and officers took the driver away.

Eto’o was taken to hospital, where his condition was confirmed to be stable however he will need carefully monitoring.

Police gave the driver a beating, though as can be seen in the clip below, Eto’o went to the police station where the driver was sitting on the ground and traumatized.

Eto’o sat on the floor next to him and comforted him, then he asked the police station to drop all charges against him and release him.
