MK Dons fans put in complaint over ‘shocking treatment’ in away end at AFC Wimbledon

MK Dons fans put in a complaint over the ‘shocking treatment’ they received in the away end at AFC Wimbledon on Saturday afternoon.

Before the much anticipated clash between AFC Wimbledon and MK Dons on Saturday, Harry Pell managed to anger some MK Dons supporters by striking the balls into a group of fans during the pre-match warm-up.

Following this incident, a group from MK Dons is now planning to file a formal complaint against Pell for his actions that provoked the visiting supporters before the League Two game got underway.

One fan captured footage of the 32-year-old taking a ball and unleashed a powerful right-footed strike into the stands, ricocheted of fans.

After the game, the Franchise Dons, a group of MK Dons fans, criticised Pell for his actions before the match, alleging that he had hit over 10 shots into the stands.

In a statement shared on social media, they said: ‘We plan on making a formal complaint by whatever means necessary and to whoever it may concern regarding the AFC Wimbledon player that booted 10+ balls into the MK Dons away fans prior to kick-off, whilst his team-mates peacefully warmed up.’

As reported by MK Citizen, the list of several complaints put forward by MK Dons supporters included abuse from stewards and only one turnstile being opened to allow over 800 travelling fans into the stadium.

Some AFC Wimbledon players also ran over and goaded the away supporters at the final whistle following their 94th minute winner to celebrate in front of them, leading to a flare up between both sets of players.

STATEMENT:

The MKDSA, having attended yesterday’s fixture, has opened an investigation into complaints and received numerous photos and videos.

Further to this, the MKDSA representatives on the Supporters Board are actively supporting the board with an investigation into events encountered in the away end at AFC.

After a smooth MKDSA Official Away travel journey for 227 of our supporters, the events that unfolded when entering the stands were unacceptable.

We have already shared images and videos along with some witness statements to assist in building a picture of what occurred. We will work closely with the Supporters board and club and share any updates.

If you have any information that you as supporters would like to share along with images or videos, then please email them to mkdonssb@gmail.com

Twitter users gave their reaction as MK Dons fans put in a complaint over ‘shocking treatment’ in the away end at AFC Wimbledon…

@DonWindlesham: You really are a pathetic bunch of saddos…

@ncbpti: “shocking treatment of supporters” you obviously weren’t around in 2001-02, were you?

@ArryHarrison: Don’t bother coming next time would be my advice. Believe me, you won’t be missed!

@RussellAinslie: And your customers damaging our hoardings etc?

@petehotchkiss: This is the funniest post I’ve seen in a while. “Youre looking into it” Literally nothing will happen chaps. Get over it.

@CourtDannycourt: Take it to the FA, they always see you lot all right

@afcw_don: This post is beyond irony. Must be a parody account 😂 or just a lovely little thread for franchise to cry to each other on. Big love all the way from Wimbledon (look it up on a map) 💛💙

@nickmadden91: You stole a club, no sympathy

@benjaminbond92: I would send a written complaint to winkleman. Remind me how the 10 year premier league plan is going?

@andymilton1996: You wrecked the away end last time and smashed seats this time. You get what you get. Keep crying x

@MattYeltzBaggie: Shouldn’t turn up in places where it’s been made crystal clear you’re not welcome tbh……. It couldn’t have turned out any better

@Gary_M_Wilkes: What an arsehole. Maybe they’d like to pay for the damage to our seats and advertising boards first then.

@SWSG19: Salty customers 🧂🧂🧂🧂🧂🧂 look you can’t win every game you play just accept it , moaning won’t solve this but I agree it must of been shocking🥲😂😂😂

@DavidJW120: Hahaha. Won’t take long to talk to every one of their supporters. Most of them need appropriate adults.

@SiWheeler78: I’m sure @AFCWimbledon look forward to sending an invoice for the damage to the advertising hoardings and seats that you caused. Saw at least 2 leave with help from the Met. Clearly the statement asking for our property to be respected was totally ignored.

@EdMcB1973:
Oh dear…
Vandalism – No Investigation
Aggressive behaviour to stewards/police – No Investigation
Tragedy songs – No Investigation
Footballs in crowd during warm up – INVESTIGATION
Club name not right or programme with no badge on causing hurty feelings – INVESTIGATION
Sad.

@9yrspodcast: Yes we only gave them one seat each where they are used to being given a choice of 30.

@dracus1971: Bit late for a franchise supermarket property deal to start worrying about shocking treatment of supporters.

@Scottygarbs: I received shocking treatment as well I had to breath the same air as them for 90 minutes

@AndyGP_Author: The supporters board is aware of the shocking treatment of the Don’s Goalkeeper, Alex Bass, yesterday. Rest assured, he will suck it up, and continue to laugh at those responsible.

@jb45691: What about all the smashed up seats you ain’t going to mention that are you

@gatheringthem97: What about all the smashed seats in the away end cause by your fans?

@oscarnathan2: ah yes because you didn’t leave the away end in a state did you
