Latest newly unveiled kits from English clubs for 2021/22 – 10th July

We take a look at the latest newly unveiled kits from English clubs for the 2021/22 season, and the majority of them have gone down well.

The current campaign is over and done with, so now their attention can only turn to the next one, and with clubs desperately needing the cash to boost their finances, now is the perfect time to release them to supporters.

Over the last few weeks, we’ve come across a variety of kits, some looking rather nice, though others have looked a lot worse, and then you have you just plain average bunch. Take a look at the latest collection to be launched below…

SHEFFIELD UTD AWAY KIT

Sheffield United revealed their new 21/22 away kit by adidas and it’s a black shirt wit a thick grey diagonal stripe running from the right shoulder to the left corner and silver adidas stripes and sleeve/neck detailing.

The Randox Health sponsor logo is placed on the front of the shirt and the adidas logo is stitched on the right-hand side with the SUFC crest positioned on the left.

The 21/22 season strips are Aeroready, which means the material draws moisture away from the skin leaving you cool and dry.

NORWICH CITY HOME KIT

Norwich City reveal a Joma home kit for the 2021-22 Premier League season and it’s design features a nod to the famous ‘Canaries’ nickname with a green sleeve pattern inspired by the wings of the canary on the club crest.

Other detailing, across the predominantly yellow body, include a green panel across the top of the shoulders and a vertical strip under each arm down to the hip.

Woven into the collar of the shirt are the club’s six values – growth, integrity, belonging, resilience, pride and commitment.

The new shirt is made from 100% recycled polyester, feature principal partner logos of Lotus and JD on the front and sleeve.

NEWCASTLE UNITED HOME KIT

The new Newcastle United home kit for the 2021/22 Premier League season is out and the Castore kit features a retro-inspired black and white shirt with a mandarin collar, referencing the famous jersey worn during the ‘Entertainers’ era of the mid-1990s.

There is a black stripe down the shirt’s centre, wider white stripes either side and large black side panels, with light blue accents beneath the collar buttons and across the back to compliment the colour of the scroll on the club’s famous crest.

As a nod to the club’s supporters, the words ‘Black and White Army’ adorn the inside of the collar, while the Castore slogan ‘Better Never Stops’ is written at the base of the shirt.

All adult shirts also feature the club’s primary sponsor, FUN88, in the company’s trademark blue across the chest.

The kit comes with traditional black shorts, with a white and light blue side stripe, and black socks which feature a white turnover and light blue trim.

The shirt has been made by Castore to be lightweight, highly breathable and moisture-wicking, with enhanced ventilation provided by mesh underarm panels.

Made from high-stretch fabric, it offers exceptional ease of movement to maximise performance and comfort.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST AWAY KIT

This is the new Nottingham Forest Away shirt by Macron, and the new design features a fluorescent pink graphic on a navy base, while the neck trim, Macron chest “Hero” logo and the iconic Forest crest are all in red.

The main sponsor, BOXT, sees its wordmark appear in high-contrast white, while the Championship side will carry the shirt with matching navy shorts when it is required in the coming season, with additional branding from UK Meds and The Skinny Food Co.

Completing the kit are striking navy and pink socks, and here at Fan Banter, we really do admire it, but it will divide opinion.

COVENTRY CITY HOME KIT

Coventry City unveiled the new Sky Blues home kit for the 21/22 season, and the bespoke shirt shows the Phoenix prominently on the chest, rising from flames at the bottom of the shirt. Love it.

The Phoenix is a famous symbol of Coventry, representing New Coventry reborn out of the ashes of the old, and added to the City’s Coat of Arms in 1959.

The shirt also has a classic round collar, harking back to the style used in the 1960s.

It comes with the famous Hummel chevrons feature prominently on the sleeves while distinctive touches include CCFC slogans and branding: ‘Sky Blues’ on the rear of the shirt.

The words ‘While We Sing Together’ in the inside of the shirt. Sky Blue and Navy Blue Two Tone pattern on the sleeves – replicating a style used in the 1996/97 home kit

The club’s sponsor BoyleSports is on the front of the shirt too and is in keeping with the overall design of the kit. The BoyleSports logo will be on all retail shirts, except for Junior and Infant sizes.

‘PUSB’ features on the cord of the shorts, while on the shorts themselves the Sky Blue and Navy Blue Two Tone pattern also can be seen.

CREWE ALEXANDRA AWAY KIT

Crewe Alexandra revealed their new Away shirt for the 21/22 season and we rather like it despite it’s simplicity.

The new black strip is manufactured by Football Thailand (FBT) for the fifth season running.

It comes with gold coloured details and features the Mornflake who are sponsoring on the front and back of the shirt.

SOUTHAMPTON THIRD KIT

Southampton unveil a new 2021/22 third kit, produced by the club’s Kit Supplier hummel.

The new design pays tribute to the club’s current and former homes with an embossed graphic featuring St Mary’s and The Dell across the front of the shirt in tone-on-tone material, highlighted with red accent colours.

The structural design of both stadiums also makes an appearance on the inner back neck of the shirt, with a tribute to 20 years at St Mary’s on the back and the names of stands from both grounds printed on the inner back neck hem.

hummel and Southampton’s shared commitment to sustainability means that the kits are made using Eco8 material, produced from recycled plastic bottles.

HULL CITY AWAY KIT

Hull City revealed the Club’s new away kit for the 21/22 season and it’s manufactured by Umbro.

This blackout kit features a tone-on-tone front stripe with a woven black tonal crest, stylised crew neckline, embroidered diamond, bespoke back neck sign-off with ‘Tigers’ lettering and a dropped hem with side vent detail.

The shorts are black with tonal side panels and feature an elasticated waistband, gusset for enhanced movement, an embroidered diamond and a two-tone woven club crest.

Socks are black with a tonal cuff detail, tonal jacquard stacked diamond and ‘Tigers’ lettering, a cotton footbed, elastic cuff and instep cool zone technology.

The kit is sponsored by principal club partners Giacom, while On Line Group feature as the back-of-shirt sponsors.

READING HOME KIT

Reading unleash the new 21/22 home strip for their 150th anniversary season with a new crest for the campaign.

Nearly 150 years ago this club first played competitive football and the players took to the field wearing thin blue and white hoops, white shorts and hooped socks.

In the club’s anniversary season, they will pay homage to their 19th century beginnings with a design based on the first ever kit worn by those who first represented Reading.

The strip also has names of former players who have been inducted into the Royal’s Supporters Trust’s Hall of Fame have been sublimated into the blue hoops, front and back.

A tip of the cap to the generations of players who have worn blue and white ever since those 1871 beginnings.

The crest is woven in gold, while ‘1871-2021, 150 YEARS’ is written on the back of the home shirt and on the calf of the home socks.

EVERTON HOME KIT

Everton has revealed its new Hummel Home kit for the 2021/22 season, and it’s a dazzle-camouflage inspired kit featuring a two-tone patterned blue shirt, white shorts with royal blue and yellow detailing, and white socks.

A dazzle pattern is inspired by the role of the city of Liverpool and its docks in painting naval ships with the inventive and livery during the First World War.

The brainchild of a British marine artist, the use of contrasting shapes, tones and colours proved highly effective at disguising a vessel’s size, speed, distance and direction, confusing the enemy at sea.

To this day, the practice is celebrated in Liverpool through a working Mersey ferry ‘Everybody Razzle Dazzle’, painted to pay tribute the dazzle ships in 2014 as part of the city’s First World War centenary activities.

As with the 2021/22 away kit, launched in May, the home kit will be environmentally friendly in line with the Club’s ‘Everton For Change’ initiative and feature hummel’s ECO8 technology. New for this campaign, the implementation of ECO8 means each shirt is manufactured from high-performing polyester produced from up to eight recycled plastic bottles.

BRISTOL CITY HOME KIT

Bristol City and hummel revealed their new Home kit for the 21/22 season and a large City crest appears centrally on the shirt, with MansionBet – the club’s front of shirt sponsor sitting just below.

‘One for the Bristol City’ is written on the inner back hem and B.C.F.C. features on the back of the neck – both of which are a nod to when the club crest previously appeared centrally on a playing shirt.

The 2021/22 shirt will again be environmentally friendly, with the Robins taking up hummel’s ECO8 technology. This means each shirt is manufactured from high-performing polyester produced from up to 8 recycled plastic bottles.

LIVERPOOL AWAY KIT

Liverpool has shown off its new Away kit for the 21/22 season.

Crafted in stone, the Nike jersey epitomises the rich history of Liverpool. A city born through graft and hard work, that is celebrated through its unique style and love of high-end fashion.

A city with an unmistakable skyline comprised of three iconic buildings called the Three Graces, it’s symbolic of the local prestige, cultural importance and togetherness that comes with being a part of Liverpool FC.

In a nod back to the cult classic kit of the 1996-97 season with its off-white stone and teal colourway, this away jersey remains consistent with the home and wider collection, with the striping detail in the collar and sock.

On the nape of the neck, the 96 emblem encased by the eternal flames sits proudly in memory of the 96 children, women and men who lost their lives at Hillsborough.

PRESTON NORTH END AWAY KIT

Preston North End revealed their new 21/22 away kit, and it’s designed by Nike, with the green shirt featuring a Dri-FIT technology and comes with yellow shoulder flashes and mesh side panels.

There is a yellow v-neck collar which is taped for a smooth feel and a mesh back panel providing added breathability.

The new away shirt features the logo of new principal partner PAR Group on the front and back of the shirt

The shirt is slim fit for a tailored feel and is complemented with yellow shorts and green socks.

TORQUAY UNITED AWAY KIT

Torquay United revealed their new 21/22 Away kit by Nike and it’s a hyper turquoise Away kit which celebrates the individual heritage of the club.

1899 numerals run down from the centre of the shirt, resulting in another iconic touch that pays homage to the year of the Club’s foundation.

Built with Dri-FIT sweat-wicking technology, the Nike Torquay United 21/22 Away Short-Sleeve Shirt keeps fans cool and comfortable.

TORQUAY UNITED HOME KIT

Torquay United released their new home kit for the upcoming 21/22 National League season.

After last year’s hugely popular shirts, Gary Johnson’s men will continue to take the pitch in kit produced by sportswear giants, Nike, in collaboration with official kit partners, Pro:Direct.

Once again repping the English Riviera, the Torquay home kit features a bright and breezy colour scheme inspired by the club’s seaside heritage.

United’s year of formation – 1899 – sits proudly at the chest, with pinstripe details underneath giving a clean-cut look.

SCUNTHORPE UNITED AWAY KIT

Scunthorpe United revealed their new 21/22 Away kit by Macron and we personally love it.

The away kit is black with a bold yellow flash design and was a clear winner in the fans vote for the away kit.

It has black shorts and socks with Macron’s brilliant yellow detail, bound to cause a variety of opinions online.

SCUNTHORPE UNITED HOME KIT

Scunthorpe United unveiled their new 2021-22 home kit which was chosen by supporters earlier in the year.

The home kit is a traditional claret and blue colour with a fade design on the shirt. Always popular.

The shorts are blue with claret trim and blue socks. This combination of blue shorts and blue socks was also voted for by the fans through the vote earlier in the year.

OLDHAM ATHLETIC HOME KIT

Oldham Athletic revealed their new club crest and the 2021/22 home shirt.

With the club concluding its 125th anniversary the new crest is a modern take on an old classic to acknowledge it’s proud history.

The new club crest is created from the simplicity of the badge in the 1960 and 70s. The not so angry looking owl, which is placed in the town in different formats, perched over the ball is iconic and has been with the club ever since it rose through the divisions during that time. The typeface and wording of Oldham Athletic AFC is based on the signage that is still present on the front of the Main Stand which was initially erected during the same era.

Hummel once again has created a bespoke kit design that supporters had the chance to vote on in terms of the key feature.

It incorporates the colours of blue, white and red trim including a subtle texture in between the two shades of stripes.

Hummel’s iconic chevrons once again adorn the shoulders, with the white and red trim finishing off the shirt. It is complemented with white shorts and blue socks again.

There’s an additional feature by the kit manufacturer on the back of the neck of each shirt, the pattern based on the arches off the Lion’s Den in Alexandra Park. Combining both creates a modern feel to a retro kit, aligning itself with the vision of the new club crest.

The shirt uses hummel’s ECO8 technology ensuring each shirt is manufactured from high-performing polyester produced from up to eight recycled plastic bottles.

SALFORD CITY KITS

After the striking stripes of last year, kit suppliers Kappa have kept the red more simplistic this season and chosen to focus on more intricate features.

The home kit has a a contrasting white trim with a narrow red stripe to give it a retro feel, while the bottom of the shirt features the lion’s face from the crest.

Once again on the road we have a white away kit and a black third kit and both feature gold as the secondary colour in similar designs.

The white shirt retains principal sponsor TalkTalk’s pride logo to demonstrate our shared and ongoing support for the LGBTQ+ community, and all three shirts have the Club motto integrated into the back of the collar.

Shirts will be available to purchase soon once stock has been delivered and sorted. They will be available from the Club Shop (opening hours to be confirmed) and online, costing £40 for Adult sizes and £35 for Juniors.
