Hull City are reportedly set to appoint a new boss in Pedro Martins, who has been linked with Wolves, as their new head coach.
The Championship side last week sacked Shota Arveladze after just nine months in charge, with the club sitting fifth from bottom in the standings.
But Martins, who has been linked with the vacant post at Wolves having previously been at Olympiacos, is now expected to take charge at the MKM Stadium barring any late bumps.

The 52-year-old, who was at Hull City’s stadium ahead of Wednesday’s league fixture against Wigan Athletic, has managed more than 600 games in Portugal and Greece.
Hull have also explored interest in the likes of Carlos Carvahal, Carlos Corberan and Scott Parker – but Martins was viewed as the outstanding exciting candidate by Ilicali.
On Friday, chairman Ilıcalı said: ‘During the international break, we had a number of meetings with Shota to discuss the direction of the team and the future of the club.
‘As these meetings went on, it became clear our views weren’t aligned so we have made the decision to part ways.
‘Our focus is now supporting Andy [Dawson] and the squad and finding the best possible candidate to drive this club forward.’
Pedro Martins began his managerial career at Uniao de Lamas and later secured Europa League qualification for Rio Vae and Vitoria Guimaraes in his home country, before moving to Olympiacos in 2018.

This is what fans had to say with Hull City set to appoint the boss linked with Wolves as their new head coach…
@JamesKelly2398: Fair play to Hull City for getting a great coup in Pedro Martins who has won x3 back to back Greek Super League’s with Olympiacos. To get a manager in the calibre which has played European football to a club 20th in the Championships shows Acun Ilıcalı’s major ambition
@benatkinson96:
We’ve got 👏🏻👏🏻 Pedro Martins
Yes, it works! #hcafc
@robertobkup: Rough old day when Hull are more attractive then you isn’t it
@Tom220216: What an appointment Pedro martins will be. Three back to back titles, got average Portuguese teams European football yet some fans will still complain cause he’s not managed in the championship. #hcafc
@hcafcisaac: Pedro Martins really looks to be the man to take us forward on paper, granted he’s only managed in Portugal and a few years in Greece, but with the top team winning multiple titles. Not to mention experience in Europe. A better pedigree than Shota and his Uzbek honours… #hcafc
@OwstyHcafc: Best Pedro Martins chant gets a subway meatball marinara, go #hcafc
@SWood18: Not going to pretend to know anything about this Pedro Martins fella, because I know absolutely fuck all. Happy to back any manager that comes in. Championship experience or not, they’re all a gamble. #hcafc
@JohnAcko1985: Looks like it’s Pedro Martins. Appreciate the “No Championship Experience” line but trust me, this is a major coup for us if Acun pulls this off. Just hope the King let’s him manage and backs off a touch. Get it announced pronto so we get that new manager bounce tonight #hcafc
@DannyHods: Pedro Martins is a massive appointment. Absolutely buzzing! #hcafc
@Coxon88: Don’t get why there’s so many people against the Pedro martins interest. If they haven’t managed in the championship then people are instantly snubbing them. I’d take champions league experience over championship experience all day long. #hcafc
Pedro Martins spotted at the MKM. Was linked as the favourite for the Wolves job yesterday. Managed 221 games for Olympiacos, won 143. Won the Greek Super League 3 times during his spell there. Regardless of standard, he’s shown he knows how to win games. #HCAFC
