Leeds fans cheekily taunt Newcastle and their fans with a number of chants during the 4-1 thrashing on Monday night.
Leeds went ahead after 32 minutes, Ao Tanaka’s shot deflecting off two Newcastle defenders. It was 2-0 minutes later, Jayden Bogle with the last touch following Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s header.
Calvert-Lewin had Leeds 3-0 up just before half time, with Noah Okafor making it 4-0 on 59 minutes, a strike from an Ethan Ampadu throw-in.
Bazoumana Toure could only get a consolation for Newcastle on the verge of full time.
The result sees Leeds up to 3rd in the Premier League table, with 8 points from 4 games, while Newcastle are 12th with 5 points.
Leeds fans could be heard chanting “All that money and you’re f***ing s***”, “Harvey Barnes, you’re f***ing s***”
One fan is heard saying: “We are absolutely taking the f***ing piss.”
Newcastle fan Adam Pearson, said after watching the game at Elland Road: Newcastle, where do I even begin with that game tonight? Fair enough Leeds. Let’s start off with the opposition team first. They were by far the more deserving team in that game. The scoreline reflects it. It was a score line that truly did reflect the game because Leeds were that much better than Newcastle. They were better in a footballing point of view.
“On a personal level, I always like coming down to Leeds. It’s easy to get to less than two hours in the car. Leeds fans are class. It’s one of the best atmospheres in the Premier League. And even though they were taking the mick out of us in the second half, he just sat there and stood there and just laughed at it because some of the jokes were funny. They were quite clever. There was smart on the spot. And Leeds is a proper club. I’m glad to say Leeds will be back in the Premier League next season because that is one of my favourite away trips even though Newcastle was destroyed there.
“And let’s talk about in a footballing point of view. Look, you have to be honest in Newcastle point of view. We are in a transition phase. We’ve lost 12 players this summer. We brought eight players in. There’s been a manager change. We got new formation, new tactics, new playing style.
“However, despite the fact that Newcastle will lose games and at times you can accept in the manner you lose games depending on how Newcastle plays. I do not accept that. I don’t accept the manner in which they lost that game. And I don’t accept the capitulation. I don’t accept the surrender. I don’t accept the lack of fight after conceding.
“Where was it after the first goal where any Newcastle player got the ball, they wanted to step up, they wanted to prove themselves and they wanted to get back at lead. Where was tonight, there wasn’t any of it. That was a team once they concede that first goal, they knew they were done for. They knew they were going to lose the game and that’s not acceptable. You bought eight new players in this summer. Yes, we’ve lost a lot of players, but how where’s that mentality shift?
“Bournemouth last week, we were awful against Bournemouth. We were two new down at one point, but Newcastle in that game had a bit of grit. They had a bit of fight. It was a team that weren’t good, but got themselves back into it and they were able to get a point out of the game despite probably not deserving it over the 90 minutes.
“Millwall again, they were let off against Millwall because of their poor quality in front of goal and Newcastle were tested last week. They were warned against Bournemouth. They were warned against Millwall and they were punished tonight. ”

Leeds boss Daniel Farke said to Sky Sports:
“I wasn’t happy that we allowed them to score one goal. But, it doesn’t take anything away from the fact that my boys were brilliant and we fully deserved to win the game. There’s no such thing as a perfect performance though, and this is one of the rare points I have to criticise.
“We have energy, quality, good structure in and out of possession. We have a good fitness level, also. It’s not just the will, otherwise whoever had the strong will would always win the game. We have to have the right triggers and everyone needs to be spot on. It’s lots of work on the training ground to be that compact and intense.
On Dominic Calvert-Lewin:
“He’s in outstanding shape and he plays with lots of confidence. I expect him to lead the group and he’s taken the responsibility.
🗣️ “They’re definitely in that bracket of teams now”

Newcastle boss Matthias Jaissle speaking with Sky Sports:
“That’s the Premier League. It was clear from the start and I have said many times we will have ups and downs and challenges along the way. Tonight, we faced that challenge. It’s really tough. Difficult to digest, but this is a chance to learn because there’s not long until the next match at home to show the right reaction.
“You need to bring the fundamentals on the pitch against a physical and strong team. Leeds are so intense, especially at home and we couldn’t match that physicality in the first half. That was a key element. No excuses, we have to learn from it.
“Injuries are also a challenge that we need to overcome and will. This is the message I have given to the players. There will be no issue with confidence.”

Jayden Bogle spoke to Sky Sports, responding on being named for the second goal:
“I didn’t know anything about it!
“I said to the ref I didn’t fancy telling him [Calvert-Lewin] at half-time [that it was Bogle’s goal]. Even during the game he was still a bit raging. He’s happy with the points though.”
Dominic Calvert-Lewin to Sky Sports:
“The ref told me at half-time they gave it to Jayden. I didn’t even know he was there as I got up early and bang. I’ll take the assist.”
“The way he plays for us is outstanding”

Here’s the social media reaction while Leeds fans cheekily taunt Newcastle and their fans during 4-1 thrashing…
@JakeNUFC__: well that was fucking horrific
@AngelNufc: Horrific game, but it’s been coming all season with the way we’ve been playing. If we play like that against Hull, we’ll lose again. Something has to change, whether it’s the formation or the tactics, because this clearly isn’t working.
@NUFCMoments: Can take us losing – but it’s the manner of the performances that are really concerning. #NUFC
@S0uthernGe0rdie: Nothing like a huge overreaction from the fanbase. Expecting us to be world beaters 6 weeks in. Everyone expecting miracles already. 5 points from 4 tough fixtures. 3 points Saturday and it would have been a cracking start. Then a vital international break. #NUFC
@NUFCIrving1010: Lessons learned needed. Team is lacking athleticism, particularly at centre back and in midfield. We used to be a force physical winning duals, etc. Long ball to Wissa / Pardo does not work, invite pressure on the back foot. Need to be getting the basics right
@toonlifenufc: After a full week’s prep I was looking forward to the intense, front foot, vertical football we were promised. Make them walk home. 🫠 Start Toure.
@nufc_rockets: What a sorry sorry performance. We don’t know how to play out of a press. Botman I’ve been defending you a lot but I can’t now. Murphy I never want to see him play again why we accept the bid I’ll never know. Toure only bright spark he should’ve started long ago
@tfNUFC: Glad that’s over. A lot of reflection needed, can only hope some major learnings are taken from it. Shambles. #NUFC
@LukeEdwardsTele: That was totally unacceptable from Newcastle. It’s early days and it’s a new team with a new manager who has only been here a few weeks. Time and patience are needed. But that performance cannot be repeated home or away or things will turn very quickly #nufc
