FourFourTwo predicts the 2024/25 League One table

The 2024/25 season is just around the corner, and with that in mind, we look to FourFourTwo who predicts the League One table.

We turn our attention to the third tier division, and as always, it causes plenty of reaction and debates on social media with many checking out the bookies odds.

You can order your copy of the FourFourTwo magazine, including the much loved season preview magazine by clicking HERE.

Have a look at who they thought would finish from 24th to 1st below, some will surprise, others not so…

24) CRAWLEY

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 24th place (relegated) for the 2024/25 campaign.

24/25 FFT VERDICT: 7 of the playoff final winning XI have left, including talismanic frontman Danilo Orsi and star midfielder Liam Kelly, resurrecting buried doubts about the owners. Wealdstone’s Charlie Barker looks a decent defensive addition, but it’s a club ill-prepared for League One.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 24th place for the 2023/24 League Two campaign – instead they finished 7th and won the playoffs.

23/24 FFT VERDICT: Crawley Town got attention last season for eccentricity off the field, rather than electricity on it – something the crypto-owners have to change. Last term’s separate runs of four, three and six straight losses hardly scream stability. They’ll hope Danilo Orsi adds quality from Grimsby, but League Two survival is the only thing that matters.

23) SHREWSBURY

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 23rd place (relegated) for the 2024/25 campaign.

24/25 FFT VERDICT: Harrison Biggins and George Lloyd add energy in midfield and attack respectively, although they won’t transform the Shrews, output after a measly 35 goals last time out. Dynamo Carl Winchester is the key to any chance of survival, but flair and firepower looks to lacking.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 18th place for the 2023/24 League One campaign – instead they finished 19th.

23/24 FFT VERDICT: The Shrews’ restructuring with Micky Moore coming in as director of football even after a fine top half finish, means the club will adopt a more developmental model. Carl Winchester has made his loan from Sunderland permanent, but it may not all deliver instant results.

22) CAMBRIDGE

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 22nd place (relegated) for the 2024/25 campaign.

24/25 FFT VERDICT: Wingback Liam Bennett is a huge talent and incoming striker Shayne Lavery can be a handful. But with Mamadou Jobe sidelined due to an ACL injury and midfielder George Thomas also recovering from one, there could be plenty of sleepless nights for this Monk at the Abbey.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 23rd place for the 2023/24 League One campaign – instead they finished 18th.

23/24 FFT VERDICT: Bonner has achieved great things at Cambridge, but after last term’s dice with the drop, it’s a big rebuild at the Abbey. Early business hasn’t been hugely impressive on paper, so another dogfight could be in store. Finding a replacement departing top scorer Smith is vital.

21) NORTHAMPTON

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 21st place for the 2024/25 campaign.

24/25 FFT VERDICT: Sam Sherring, Marc Leonard and Kieron Bowie will be missed across the pitch – and will Sam Hoskins hit 15 goals again? Jon Brady has been superb but his Cobblers might not be able to cobble together enough points, even with Callum Morton and Cameron McGeehan arriving.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 20th place for the 2023/24 League One campaign – instead they finished 14th.

23/24 FFT VERDICT: A crowded treatment room truly stretched Brady’s adaptability last season, but still the Cobblers found a way to automatic promotion. Northampton will need greater squad availability to stay up so signing the reliable Patrick Brough from Barrow was a promising start.

20) EXETER

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 20th place for the 2024/25 campaign.

24/25 FFT VERDICT: The Grecians’ 2023-24 wasn’t as comfortable as their 13th place finished implied, and they could be in for more sticky spells in a stronger League One renewal. As a proven centre forward at this level, which they didn’t have last year, Josh Magennis, can help them through.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 14th place for the 2023/24 League One campaign – instead they finished 13th.

23/24 FFT VERDICT: After crucial departures, head of recruitment Marcus Flitcroft will be as pivotal as ever as Caldwell’s side intend to build on a positive first season up. Poaching vibrant 22 year old Vincent Harper from Eastleigh was a great move towards achieving that goal.

19) STEVENAGE

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 19th place for the 2024/25 campaign.

24/25 FFT VERDICT: Steve Evans’ exit to Rotherham is a monumental blow to the Boro, who now hope that Revell has learned plenty from working under the Scotsman, and from his mixed first stint as boss back in 2020-21. A competitive squad remains, so they should at least avoid the drop.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 19th place for the 2023/24 League One campaign – instead they finished 9th.

23/24 FFT VERDICT: Skipper Carl Piergianni produced one of the greatest seasons ever seen by a League Two centre-back as a solid team effort took Boro up. A productive window – hometown midfielder Nick Freeman joins from Wycombe – should give Evans’ troops enough to amass 50 points

18) MANSFIELD

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 18th place for the 2024/25 campaign.

24/25 FFT VERDICT: Keanu Baccus is a statement signing for Mansfield, to add to the brilliance of Aden Flint, Louis Reed, and Davis Kiellor-Dunn. However, an aging squad could struggle with the jump in division, and they will have to match opponents on technique rather than athleticism.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 9th place for the 2023/24 League Two campaign – instead they finished 3rd.

23/24 FFT VERDICT: Indeed, League Two’s bridesmaids have had four promotion challenges in the past six seasons thanks to the Radfords’ investment, without success. Mansfield Town need defender Baily Cargill, who has arrived from Forest Green, fit if they’re to wear the white dress this time around.

17) LEYTON ORIENT

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 17th place for the 2024/25 campaign.

24/25 FFT VERDICT: It will be tough for the O’s to repeat their top half finish of 2023/24, let alone better it. Jordan Graham and Ollie O’Neill – an inspired signing in January – should be provide the ammunition fro the flanks, but Richie Wellens’ side could be short on genuine firepower up front.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 16th place for the 2023/24 League One campaign – instead they finished 11th.

23/24 FFT VERDICT: League Two’s champions have lost star men Lawrence Vigouroux and Paul Smyth, in goal and attack respectively, but old heads Omar Beckles and Darren Pratley stay on. Mid-table is likely with Crewe’s Dan Agyei and Wellens favourite Ethan Galbraith two excellent additions.
