FourFourTwo predicts the 2024/25 League One table

Check out more of FourFourTwo’s predicted League One table for 2024/25 below…

16) READING

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 16th place for the 2024/25 campaign.

24/25 FFT VERDICT: Either a budding, high potential squad sprout simultaneously under a top coach, or ownership woes continue to damage the soil in a strengthen league – there may be bits of both. One way or another, watch out for aggressive, explosive right back Kelvin Abrefa.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 11th place for the 2023/24 League One campaign – instead they finished 17th.

23/24 FFT VERDICT: Having started pre-season with a wafer-thin squad and off-field concerns, it’s unlikely the Royals will bounce back straight away, even if new manager Selles works wonders. With Tom Ince gone, 2023-24 is about laying ground work for a more sustainable future.

15) BRISTOL ROVERS

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 15th place for the 2024/25 campaign.

24/25 FFT VERDICT: Isaac Hutchinson should be productivity to aid a top half bid, while Taylor Moore and Joel Senior resemble smart editions. What may hamstring Matt Taylor’s side is a total lack of any momentum, following 14 league defeats in the second half of the last campaign.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 12th place for the 2023/24 League One campaign – instead they finished 15th.

23/24 FFT VERDICT: Catching the eye with a young vibrant side, the Gas might need a touch more know-how mainly in defence and may have to replace star forward Aaron Collins. If they re-invest wisely, a top half finish is attainable. One time loanee Luke Thomas has joined from Barnsley.

14) BURTON

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 14th place for the 2024/25 campaign.

24/25 FFT VERDICT: A first takeover in decades provides fresh hope, helped by a very active window; Elliott Watt is a key to Mark Robinson’s stylistic (r)evolution, and Crawley’s Danilo Orsi chose Burton from a host of interested clubs. Success isn’t inevitable, nor instant, but progress can begin this season.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 15th place for the 2023/24 League One campaign – instead they finished 20th.

23/24 FFT VERDICT: The Brewers performed as a top 10 side after Maamria inherited the strugglers back in September, but key figures have since departed the Pirelli including on-loan striker Dale Taylor, so their chances hinge on whether recruit Cole Stockton can recapture his 2021-22 levels.

13) WYCOMBE

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 13th place for the 2024/25 campaign.

24/25 FFT VERDICT: The Chairboys have some sturdy defensive foundations with Jack Grimmer, Joe Low, Josh Scowen and Luke Leehy, and new recruit Dan Udoh could fire a charge for the top six… but only if 37 year old Gareth McCleary isn’t relied upon to be their most creative player again.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 10th place for the 2023/24 League One campaign – and that is where they ended up.

23/24 FFT VERDICT: A season of transition? Perhaps – new boss Bloomfield has a different style to Ainsworth, which will take time to implement. Nonetheless, the Chairboys will feel they can push for the playoffs once again if they odd wisely to a strong core. They certainly have the know-how.

12) LINCOLN

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 12th place for the 2024/25 campaign.

24/25 FFT VERDICT: One of the EFL’s best run clubs have an outstanding midfielder in Ethan Erhahon and a bright coach in Michael Skubala ending 2023-24 with 39 points form their 17 games after January. Yet the league’s new landscape means they could even improve and still fall several places.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 9th place for the 2023/24 League One campaign – instead they finished 7th, just missing out on the playoffs.

23/24 FFT VERDICT: The underdog specialists go into this season with solid foundations, but must find a way to break sides down. Yet if Erhahon and House perform as hoped, and if Lukas Jensen can adequately replace the excellent Carl Rushworth in goal, a top six tilt could be on the cards.

11) WREXHAM

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 11th place for the 2024/25 campaign.

24/25 FFT VERDICT: Arthur Okonkwo’s shot-stopping, Max Cleworth’s defensive talents, Andy Cannon’s dynamism, Elliot Lee’s craft and Mullin’s goals gives Wrexham serious top half hopes after successive promotions. It’s just a case of adding to that core. If only they had wealthy owners.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 2nd place for the 2023/24 League Two campaign – and that is where they ended up.

23/24 FFT VERDICT: After decades of dismay, Wrexham fans now have a team to believe in, thanks to their beloved Hollywood owners. It might not be 111 points this time, especially with razor-sharp finisher Paul Mullin set to miss the start of the season through injury, but the Red Dragons still have the budget and momentum to go straight through League Two.

10) BARNSLEY

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 10th place for the 2024/25 campaign.

24/25 FFT VERDICT: Darrell Clarke’s intuitive in-game management will help the Reds, but with several big departures, regression looks likely unless starlet Fabio Jalo has a sensational breakout season. Conor Hourihane returning as a player-coach winks to the past with a nod to the future.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 3rd place for the 2023/24 League One campaign – instead they finished 6th and lost to Bolton in the playoff semi final.

23/24 FFT VERDICT: Losing Duff and captain Andersen means it’s a question of minimising further disruption, because the Tykes’ strength last season was understanding between units right through the team. If they can maintain that synergy, another promotion push should be in store.

9) WIGAN

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 9th place for the 2024/25 campaign.

24/25 FFT VERDICT: With a popular and progressive manager, as well as two of the Football league’s most prodigious young talents in Sam Tickle and Charlie Hughes, the Latics are oozing with potential, they may not have enough nous, however, to sustain a promotion challenge.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 13th place for the 2023/24 League One campaign – instead they finished 12th.

23/24 FFT VERDICT: The Latics have found financial stability with a takeover complete, wages paid and debts settled. Maloney still has that 8 point deduction to negotiate but, after he galvanised the club last season, a surge into mid-table is possible if they can use that a motivation.
