Now we have seen some very weird stuff come out and shared around WhatsApp, purely for how ludicrous it is.

The rumour is that the Premier League player will be transitioning into a woman, making it one of the bizarre made up WhatsApp stories ever.

Sent on to another person, before being screenshotted and uploaded online, the message read: “Mate, Rodriguez is never going to play football again, it’s all being completely hushed up by the club at the moment, Ancelotti doesn’t want the team being distracted in the run-in if the news breaks out.

“The players themselves haven’t even been told, it’s going to be the biggest news in football when it breaks – a couple of years ago he decided he wanted to live as a woman and started taking hormone pills, it’s why Real got rid for nothing and no other clubs were in for him.

“Everton thought it was worth a punt just for the shirt sales in Colombia.

“It’s weakened his body which is why he’s only managed 60 minutes here and there. Remember the “bruised testicle” early in the season? Hormones.

“After the Anfield game he decided he wanted to go through the full gender reassignment surgery, that’s why he’s not been seen since. He had it done last week.

“FA say he can’t in the men’s game any more. They’ve chopped his dick off lad.”

Yeah seriously, what in the actual. Imagine casually getting sent and then reading that.

Those the rumour is rather unbelievable, you could say the one that got the whole nation talking was a claim that the government was cooking a giant lasagna in Wembley Stadium to deal with any potential food shortages… and boy did that go get talk of the nation.

A voice message on WhatsApp ended up getting a response from the Football Association to deny claims that the Ministry of Defence to request that the national stadium will cook the world’s biggest lasagne to help feed to country during this tough time.

The audio said: “My sister, her boyfriend’s brother works for the Ministry of Defence and one of the things that they’re doing to prepare… is building a massive lasagne. At the moment, as we speak, they’re building the massive lasagne sheets.

“They’re putting the underground heating at Wembley on, that’s going to bake the lasagne, and then they’re putting the roof across and that’s going to recreate the oven, and then what they’re going to do is lift it up with drones and cut off little portions to drop it off to people’s homes.”

29-year-old, Billy McLean, was the man behind the fake message, mimicking the misinformation that is being posted during the coronavirus pandemic, showing how easily the fake news can spread.

McLean shared it among a group of friends at lunchtime on Thursday and within a few hours it had been sent back to him having been shared globally.

He told The Guardian: “It was just one take. I sent it to the football group, my mum and the girl that I’m trying to date.

“It went around the football group. Then I got people that I know forwarding it to me, not knowing it was me, or forwarding it to me asking if I’d heard it. Ex-girlfriends were coming out of the woodwork asking was it me.”
