Which left Firmino feeling very awkward when walking in-between them post-match…

“Sadio Mane is an emotional guy, we are all individuals,” said Klopp to Sky Sports after the game.

“Something went not like he wanted, it is not the substitution. We will clarify it in the dressing room.”

At the press conference, he added: “He was upset, that was obvious. Sadio cannot hide his emotions and I like that. But all sorted.

“We spoke about it and everything is fine. We are individuals, we are emotional.

“It was a situation in the game he wasn’t happy about. That’s completely fine.

“Would he do it (react) in exactly the same manner again? Probably not. But it happens.

“He didn’t say any wrong words (to anyone), it just looked a little bit different to how he looks usually.

“For me, it’s just a little story. Thank God we are away for a week so if you write something about it we won’t read it anyway.

“And in a week nobody will remember it anyway.

“It’s a cool moment for it to happen! But it’s all fine.”

The Liverpool boss also praised the performance of his side in the win.

“We were brilliant, there were so many 50/50 situations because of the long balls but we played early balls in behind as well,” he said.

“In moments we played really, really good football. Everything was there.

“We were a bit lucky with the first goal but we forced that situation. We controlled the game as much as you can. Wood and Barnes fight so hard for these balls, and we defended it really well. We were aggressive but gave away no fouls, we worked our socks off.

“Burnley play football as well, we had opportunities to score on the counter attack, you have to prepare the trigger.

“This sort of a game is a real challenge for our concentration. You have to be ready.”

After watching both the young Burnley fan giving a rude gesture, but also the anger when Mane was subbed off, fans took to give their surprised reaction – see what they said on the next page.
