Wrexham’s Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney hit back at Barnet keeper Laurie Walker over his now deleted tweet published after the game.
The Welsh outfit’s owners have taken aim at the goalkeeper for his role in the red card of the Welsh team on Saturday afternoon.
The National League leaders dropped points in north London as they were held to a goalless draw, which allowed Notts County to cut the gap with a 3-0 win at home to Woking.

Wrexham had to play the final 40 minutes with 10 men after Callum McFadzean was sent-off for kicking the opposition goalkeeper.
Notts County took advantage of the National League leaders dropping points when held goalless in north London.
Wrexham played the final 40 mins with just 10 men, after Callum McFadzean had been sent off for kicking an opposition goalkeeper.
McFadzean was shocked to see him dismissed by the referee, after the defender left a foot in, with contact minimal with Wrexham fans calling it soft.
Walker tagged Reynolds in a tweet after the draw, asking if he would be able to appear in his new film, as Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson accused him of making an issue of the situation. Walker deleted the message.
He said: “@VancityReynolds how’s my acting skills mate, think I could play a part in your next film. I think your gaffer thinks I could”.
He went further: “Seeing as the last got taken down have it again lol. Soo apparently getting kicked in the face is cheating 🤔 goalkeepers must voluntarily move their heads towards people’s boots 👍🏼👍🏼 🤔”
Reynolds himself tweeted: “Oof”.
McElhenney added: “I thought ‘own goals’ could only happen during the actual game” after the keeper seemingly made a u-turn on his initial post.
Ryan Reynolds said via Instagram: “I’d offer to get you a SAG card but the risk of paper cut is too high.”
Parkinson, who confronted the Barnet shot-stopper, was red carded at the final whistle, but lamented the referee and the goalkeeper.
He said: “I’m not happy with the role that the referee played in the sending off, first of all. I mean that’s a soft red card, it’s his trailing leg, there’s no real intent there and for me, [the referee] has got it wrong.
“I thought the goalkeeper made a meal out of it in all honesty and obviously, that influences the referee’s decision. I’m frustrated for Callum because I thought he was excellent, it was his first game for a long time and he played really well.”
Walker was interviewed, and said: “He was trying to say I was cheating, but I’m sure you guys can evidently see the guys come through and kick me straight in the face so that’s all I’m going to say on it.”
This is how fans reacted as Wrexham’s Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney hit back at the Barnet keeper over his deleted tweet…
@natalieastle: Bless him, he will be massively chuffed now that @VancityReynolds has acknowledged him 🥰 attention seeking child 🧒
@Geraint4WxmAFC: Or deleted because you admitted to cheating?
@CPrice2510; To try and get your 5 minutes of fame for that is a bit embarrassing mind, you’re literally publicising that just to get your name “trending” because of Wrexham’s publicity, from a neutral you’ve made an absolute mug of yourself 😂
@tom_mallen: The cheating bit is the play acting after. And you know it. Tagging RR was funny, another desperado trying to get in on our Hollywood action. I’m sure you only did it so you knew you’d be in the second series. 😁😘
@Nicgmjones: Hahaha u deleted it, looked a muppet and put it back up
@krmonk: No intent in it. He was going for the ball, as you were diving to save it. His trailing foot touching your face was accidental in the pursuit of the ball. Stop overplaying it and be a bigger man by stop plastering it all over twitter! Aren’t you meant to be a ‘professional?’
@N_Damms: Kicked in the face is a bit of a stretch 😂😂😂😂. For me it’s a case of two players went in to challenge for the ball, you got there first and the other guys trailing leg brushed your face. Wasn’t deliberate and wasn’t as bad as you’re making out….
@DeniseCharles: That is not a kick, it’s a trailing leg! If it was a deliberate kick he would have taken his head off. Fadz got the red card and it was fine until your goalie started tweeting our co-chair! Also Potter shoving Parky, is that allowed?
@Mark86911304: What a total plant pot 🤦♂️, I knew goalkeepers are a different breed but this is whole new level!!
@Mack_5000: Barnet goalie, Number 30 on Barnet and the referee all need fired. Just terrible. Why was number 30 grabbing McFadzeans head and hair so much. Poor sportsmanship is ugly on you 3.
@craigyjones17: Kicked in the face? You slid into his foot, you melt. Watch the video back!
@Pinchy2906: Admit that you deleted it you melt 😂 buzzing with a point. Small club mentality
@who_is_joegill: ‘Taken down’ is a weird way to say ‘I deleted it’.
@LukeTysonGyp: Keep digging mate. You’ve already won yourself a ban with the first tweet. 🤡
@Natalie49189660: 3 posts about it, he got the red card move on. Not very professional is it, or are you trying to get a claim for fame 🤣
@LeeMackreth: So only a boot can connect to a face, not a face can connect to a boot. The keeper was sliding on the floor. Perspective is massive. I feel sorry for Mcfadzean’s boot 😂 Up the town!!!
@gajf24: This man has wrexham fans on strings 🤣
@IMDFC1992: Never ever a red and you have milked it majorly.
