Videos emerge of fans ‘fighting’ in away end as Arsenal fans mock Man City by doing the Poznan

Videos emerge of fans ‘fighting’ in the away end as Arsenal fans mock Man City by doing the Poznan around the Emirates on Sunday.

Footage circulating on social media show Man City fans involved in conflicts among themselves in the away section with the scoreline at 4-1 to Arsenal.

On the other hand, Arsenal fans were seen performing the “Poznan,” a celebration where supporters link arms, turn their backs to the pitch, and jump up and down in unison.

The act of Arsenal fans doing the Poznan might be seen as an ironic twist, given Manchester City’s love for the celebration, especially in a match where they were not on the winning side.

The game also saw Arsenal and Gabriel get revenge on Erling Haaland with a song played on the tannoy and a copied goal celebration.

During Arsenal’s 5-1 victory over Manchester City, Gabriel celebrated Arsenal’s opening goal by screaming in front of Haaland’s face, seemingly as a form of revenge or response to previous interactions between the two players.

This was in reference to an earlier incident where Haaland had a confrontation with Gabriel during a match at the Etihad Stadium, where Haaland threw the ball at Gabriel and later told Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, to “stay humble.”

Adding to the narrative, after the match, Arsenal played Kendrick Lamar’s song “Humble” over the tannoy system at the Emirates Stadium, which could be seen as a cheeky nod to Haaland’s earlier comment or an attempt at psychological warfare.

Furthermore, Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly mocked Haaland by copying his trademark yoga pose celebration after scoring Arsenal’s third goal in the match.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has been speaking to BBC Match of the Day following the win: “It’s a great day. Considering the opposition that we played, the result we got and the manner in which we did it – it makes it a special day. A lot of things have to go your way.

“They are so good. They force you to be deeper and be in a situation that you don’t want to be. Sometimes you need a bit of luck and, after that, you have to be efficient. We had to be brave and it paid off – things have to go your way and the line is so thin.

“I liked that the team showed a lot of personality and competitiveness.”

On youngsters Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly getting on the scoresheet: “They play with a lot of personality. They are really brave, they have the courage, and they understand what we want. They play to make things happen.

“The players believe in them and that is a big thing.”

On the title race: “We need to continue doing the things that we can control. Today was a difficult game for us, and we still managed to do it.”

Arsenal and Gabriel gets revenge on Haaland with goal celebration and song played on tannoy

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has been speaking to BBC Sport following the heavy defeat: “I only regret the last 25 minutes. We forgot to do what we should do, what we had done for 65 to 70 minutes. Of course, it’s a difficult game in this stadium, against that team, conceding in the first minutes – it has happened many times this season.

“But, after 10 to 15 minutes, I think we took the game and played really good. We are in it after 1-1 and we had good momentum. We pass to make the transition with Omar [Marmoush] and then comes a deflection and the third goal.

“But, after that, we then continued to do what you have to do defensively and we were a little bit more patient. When you’re playing that way, they can run and, of course, at 3-1 they are comfortable so it is more difficult.

“I regret the last 15 to 20 minutes, but the rest was a really good game for our side. It’s difficult to understand when you see the result, but this is my feeling.

“It’s happened all season, we are giving away too many things. We are aware this cannot happen and it happened. But we reacted really well, we played with personality and we defended so good. Then we were a threat with the ball, but unfortunately after that the second goal happened. Again, many times we had the momentum.

“You have to overcome it. You cannot lose the control when it’s 90 or 95 minutes. You cannot finish in the way we played. We could’ve scored three more goals, but the team has to be stable. It doesn’t matter what happened.”
