Arsenal and Gabriel gets revenge on Erling Haaland with a song played on the tannoy and a copied goal celebration.
During Arsenal’s 5-1 victory over Manchester City, Gabriel celebrated Arsenal’s opening goal by screaming in front of Haaland’s face, seemingly as a form of revenge or response to previous interactions between the two players.
This was in reference to an earlier incident where Haaland had a confrontation with Gabriel during a match at the Etihad Stadium, where Haaland threw the ball at Gabriel and later told Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, to “stay humble.”
Adding to the narrative, after the match, Arsenal played Kendrick Lamar’s song “Humble” over the tannoy system at the Emirates Stadium, which could be seen as a cheeky nod to Haaland’s earlier comment or an attempt at psychological warfare.
Furthermore, Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly mocked Haaland by copying his trademark yoga pose celebration after scoring Arsenal’s third goal in the match.

Erling Haaland cancelled out Martin Odegaard’s opener, but Thomas Partey, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Kai Havertz and Ethan Nwaneri all got on the scoresheet in a rampant response.
The result meant that Arsenal sit six points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool, who have a game in hand, but it will boot their confidence as they put pressure on Slot’s side.
Man City manager Pep Guardiola speaking to the BBC: “I only regret the last 25 minutes, we forgot to do what we should do, what we have done for 65/70 minutes. Of course it’s a difficult game starting in this stadium, against that team in the first minutes it’s happened many times this season.
“But after 10/15 minutes I think we took the game and played really, really, really, really good and we are in it after 1-1 and good momentum we pass to make the transition with Omar [Marmoush] and a deflection and the third goal.
“But after that, we then continued to do what you have to do in terms defensively and [be a] little bit more patient. and when you’re playing that way they can run and of course at 3-1 they are comfortable, its more difficult. I regret the last 15/20 minutes, the rest was a really good game for our side. It’s difficult to understand when you see the result but this is my feeling.
“It’s happened all season, we are giving away too many things, we are aware this cannot happen, it happened. But we reacted really well and we played with personality and we defended so good and then with the ball we were a threat but unfortunately after the second happened, again many times we had the momentum. For the deflection and in other situations we conceded the goals.
“You have to overcome [it], you cannot lose the control, it’s 90/95 minutes. You cannot finish in the way we played, we could’ve scored three more but the team has to be stable it doesn’t matter what happened.
Man City manager Pep Guardiola speaking to Sky Sports:
On John Stones’ comments on the dressing room being angry at that performance: “It has to be, when you’ve lost a football game in that way especially in the last 25 minutes. It’s not easy to start the game 1-0 down immediately, like against Chelsea, but the team reacted really well again, so it makes 65 minutes until 2-1 and 3-1 and after that we lost what we should do. So you can lose the game what you have to do, you have to do it all the time.
“It has happened this season. [At] 1-1, we have an action up-field to play Omar [Marmoush] and make a transition, two against one with Savinho and then we lose the ball and after [they] shoot, [there’s a] deflection. Many things have happened this season in that terms but you have to, another goal you concede, another goal you concede, another goal you concede. But you have to do what you have to do. If you decide to talk ‘we have to do this offensively or defensively’ you have to do it.
“In the first-half we controlled the game well, we should do it because we have specific players and this is the problem in the last 20 minutes.
“I don’t have a defence to defend my players, or myself first of course, for the last 20 minutes but the rest of the game was well played. This is my feeling.”
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, speaking to Sky Sports: “It is a great day for us, especially with the necessity that we had to win the game. The manner that we have done it I am really pleased.
“We had to suffer and in moments we needed a bit of luck, and we had it.
“They hold you very deep and in those moments you have to suffer and as I said, there were moments that we were lucky.
“Overall, we scored some beautiful goals and the team showed a high competitive level.”
Guardiola agreed with Stones’ assessment in his press conference. “We can learn, there are margins to get better,” he said.
“It’s difficult when you lose 5-1, there’s no defence. But the game was well played. Arsenal, I know how many teams defend deep after 90 minutes.
“We had the composure to play. The third goal affected us and we stopped what we were doing for 60 minutes.
“It happens. It’s football. There are a lot of goals. It happens. I don’t like it, I’m a bit sad. But it’s time to continue. We have a long week, we learn from that again. I know the players want to do it.”
On Myles Lewis-Skelly: “You need big individual performances to beat them. Myles was certainly one of them, the maturity he showed and competitiveness as well.
“He plays with that personality and he’s scored a beautiful goal.
“He has been pushing us since he has been with us. We like his character and personality. He has so much courage.
“He has qualities that fit into the way we want to play. He got some minutes and he is asking for more. He deserves to play.”
On the transfer window: “I don’t know. I have been focused in the last 24 hours on what we needed to do to beat Man City.
“Intention, we have been clear from every angle of what we want to do.”
Arsenal boss Arteta on Arsenal’s efforts in his press conference: “It’s a great day for us, for the result, for the manner that we’ve done it, and especially against the level of opposition that we played today.
“To beat them in the manner that we’ve done, a lot of things have to go your way, but we were very aggressive, we played with a lot of courage, we went without the ball, and our high press, where the limits are really, really thin.
“We scored a goal, should have scored another one, clearly. They are so good that even if you don’t want to, sometimes you just have to stay deep, and defend deep, and suffer, and enjoy those moments as well.
“We had a bit of luck in certain moments, and then we had the opportunity, I think our intentions, our aggression with the ball, how we wanted to hurt them, and the way we finished the actions was exceptional.”
Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard, speaking to Sky Sports: “It was a top game and a top performance.
“With the fans and the atmosphere and the scoresheet like that it can’t be better.”
On Kai Havertz: “Massive impact again today. You see everything he does. He scored and assisted, he is always there with and without the ball – a top player. It is good to have him in the team.
“We have a good connection and we understand each other. Intelligent player and it is good to play with him.
“We have a great connection with everyone and we know each other so well.”
On scoring: “It was about time and it was good after as we didn’t stop – we kept on going. We got what we deserved. It was a good one.”
Arsenal striker Kai Havertz speaking to Sky Sports: “I think we managed to press them quite well, we didn’t give them much time. City are a top team and sometimes they beat the press but I think our energy was good, we used our chances and at the end I think it was a good game.
“I think its the timing, we train it a lot of times, it’s not only us two, it’s everyone when we push and go through the defensive players everyone needs to push through and the energy there is very important. We are the first to press, but the rest of the team are doing it excellently as well.
“I think I was a bit frustrated from the chance in the first half, so I thought to myself I need to score one and when I saw it go in I was very happy.”
«This Team» that wins everything. Ehhhhh, not. 🩵 https://t.co/B81Ais3J6a

Man City defender John Stones, speaking to Sky Sports: “It is difficult. I think all of us don’t take losing well.
“It is hard to put into words straight after a game like that. Pride hurts. Sorry to the fans that have traveled to come and watch that.
“How we played in the last 30 minutes was not acceptable. Personally and collectively, it’s not us.
“It is not nice to be involved in that when you know it’s not your team in those situations. Credit to Arsenal, this is not an easy place to come to. For 65 minutes, we played some great football at times.
“We were in the game and it was a swinging point. It swung the wrong way for us. I am angry, upset personally and collectively about how the game finished.
“To get us back after half-time was a great feeling and a good situation to be in. To concede after that from deflection off me or a bit of luck.
“It is difficult when there is an overload at the back, and you have a split second decision to come out and they got the luck on that one.
“I could have stayed more square, I’d have to watch it back. We cannot let those situations get on top of us.
“We stopped doing the things we meant to. Difficult for me to put into words.
“A lot of different things that I have not figured out why we are not picking up results.
“The passion is there, the training and everyone has the right intention.
“We have not got to where we are without difficult times and that is through everyone’s career right now.
“We all have to stick together, that’s a key point that we don’t start to point fingers.”
Fans reacted as Arsenal and Gabriel gets revenge on Haaland with the goal celebration and song played on tannoy…
@ThatAnfieldBuzz: Peps going to need another £200-300million, to cover up the fact he’s just a poor coach without a huge chequebook 😂😂
@realzehor: Our players were bad… the difference between the Arsenal players and us is Decisiveness and Determination…. They attack and defend at the same pace and that’s how we were playing in 22/23 … we’ve lost track and blaming injury crisis
@BradJ4mes: I can’t believe it but we are actually gonna batter man city on Saturday #LOFC
@tomTJjames3: Thanks for coming City.. I’m even seeing other fan bases commenting on our celebrations now 🤣🤣 We’ve just won the biggest game of the season & people are hating. Let us enjoy our win, just like you would. Now go and enjoy your working week 👋🏼👋🏼👋🏼
@DavyWright4: Haaland point to league title forgetting arsenal have won 13 league titles compared to man city’s 10 🤣🤣 man thinks football in England started in May 2012 🤣🤣🤣🤣 another own goal for haaland. Tough day for him
@Jon92P: To be fair, this is exactly what the game should be about. Shithousery, fair play. He’s a mong but he’s good at football
@ButtRobbie: Rattles all the right people 😂 piss boiler him
@jpacker_1993: Smug smiling after a 5-1 defeat and being 15 points behind the leaders. That’s the sign of an immature man
@TheShireGunner: Doing this to a club that hasn’t won anything is fine, but when you do it to a club like Arsenal you make yourself look like a prick
