VIDEO: Sky Sports mutes ‘Sky TV is fucking shit’ chant during Huddersfield v Derby

The new season is underway and already we have heard the first ‘Sky TV is fucking shit’ chant sang out during Huddersfield Town’s match against Derby County last night.

It’s fair to say that the hate from supporters towards Sky Sports was a growing trend last season and once again it was made known.

The Rams had a total of 16 matches selected on the channel, with Sheffield United (17), Aston Villa (18), West Brom (19) and Leeds United (22) having more showings.

It was on the 75th minute mark of yesterday’s match the travelling fans sang what is already a well known chant.

Fans picked up on it and took to Twitter…

Other fans state that it was in fact sang on the very first televised game of the English Football League season between Salford City and Stevenage, and we wouldn’t be surprised if it was for Leeds’ clash at Bristol City on Sunday.

Last season, Derby County and Nottingham Forest supporters broke into song around the 26th minute mark of when they met and managed to get themselves heard before Sky then noticeably muted them but playing fake crowd noise over it.

Have a watch when the moment happened in the video below…

The video went viral, being watched nearly one million times on Twitter as well as receiving thousands of likes and retweets.

Sky did the same when Leeds sang it during many of their televised fixtures.

A story by the Daily Mail captured the attention of player Luke Ayling who saw the funny side and joked on social media that they fans will “Have to sing a little louder on Sunday lads”.

Sky have also done it during a minute’s silence before the Steel City derby. The sports channel apologised, saying: “We are aware that some viewers experienced audio issues during the playing of the Last Post prior to the Sheffield derby, we apologise unreservedly for this regrettable technical error.”

Bristol City fans sang a “We all hate Sky Sports” chant around a cameraman during the game as their side’s Championship clash against Norwich City was moved to a 5:30pm kick off.

After hearing the chant sang before a commentator spoke over it, fans who noticed it took to give their reaction – take a look at what they had to say on the next page.
