Footage has emerged after Roy Keane gets into a heated exchange with a fan when signing autographs after Saturday’s Manchester Derby.
The former Manchester United player became embroiled in a heated debate as tensions rise at Old Trafford.
Despite the Red Devils suffering the 2-0 Premier League defeat and having plenty of anger the vent during and after the game on Sky Sports, Keane still took the time to sign autographs with eager fans outside the ground – however things quickly turned sour.
While it’s unclear what sparked the back-and-forth between Keane and a disgruntled passer by – the majority of which was caught on camera by the drizzle-soaked crowd – the ex-footballer is quick to suggest that alcohol may have played a part.

Keane confronts the passer by and can be heard saying: “You’ve had a few drinks and you’re taking it out on me?”
A mumbled rebuttal from the disgruntled fan quickly follows, before Keane adds: “You’ve had a few drinks? You can tell. What have you had – two pints?”
Keane then swiftly makes his exit, walking off and disappearing into the crowd.
Twitter users reacted as Roy Keane gets into a heated exchange with a fan after the Manchester Derby…
@KohChungWei: That fan got off lucky
@Hugos_There_: Why do people think players owe them the world. There’s probably still 1000’s people hovering around that ground, he’s not gonna sign everything is he? Fair play.
@CormieD123: Keano showing more passion outside the stadium than the players on the pitch,
@DavidUtd_: Absolute legend, love keano
@Gregskii3: at least roy is genuine. would take that anywday
@DavidMacmahon4: Roy is a legend the man doesn’t suffer fools lightly he knows we are lacking passion attitude and effort on the pitch, Billy Big ball giving him stick was put back in his biscuit tin what you had a few drinks 2 pints 🤣 pure class
@AmBigSerge: Don’t mess with Keano, it’s not an act. He has no time for nonsense.
@AntonioMango4: I actually love this from Roy Keane, sticking up for himself and telling it how it is. The man’s had a few drinks and thought he could be clever, that’s the problem with football fans these days. Should have just left him alone to sign autographs
@Utd1A: We are a state at the moment
@search_n_annoy: Roy’s not taking any shit
@HollesJoe: The guy has more passion than the whole squad
@bainsey__lad: Haha Keane put it right in his toes and the guy shit it!
@Josh_McArdle:
“Roy you’re a legend of this club. You’re a legend of this club.”
“Well what do you want me to do? Hang around all day and sign autographs? I’ve said…I’ve signed autographs!”
“Why would you be like that mate?”
“Like what? What’d I do?”
“Why would you be like that?”
ROY KEANE’S RANT ON SKY SPORTS:
“It felt worse [than Liverpool match].
“They were happy to keep the ball and toyed with United. So poor. The difference in class, decision making, everything. It was men vs boys. United are so off it it’s unbelievable.
“[Phil] Foden said it’s a tough place to come. It’s not. Ask Everton, ask Aston Villa, ask Liverpool. Teams are getting joy. I know the away record over the last few years has been fantastic but it’s what you do at home that sets you up to win trophies. United’s home form and performance.
“The goal at half-time killed it. They needed to go in at half-time 1-0 and regroup. United are just so poor. Fred and McTominay aren’t good enough. It was so comfortable for City.
“Foden’s getting interviewed there. The way I look at it after a derby you should be drained you should be exhausted and no energy left. He was chatting there as if he had a training game.
“Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer] seems to be under pressure since he’s walked into the club and that’s not going away because people didn’t think he was up to it.
“The pressure is going to build but the players I look at Shaw and De Gea they’re international players. They couldn’t sniff out danger, these boys are too casual. Ole has to take responsibility and I’ve defended him for one or two years but he’s the manager and the staff need to get more out of these players.
“The lack of quality particularly in midfield they are so short. I’d like to go hard on the United players but today I feel sorry for them. They’re just not up to playing for United. When I was at United you judge a player on how they cope with playing in front of 75,000 and you stay in the fight when you’re under the cosh.
“But this team doesn’t. They just don’t have the desire to stay in the fight. This team doesn’t have personality. They’re trying things and they’re a decent group going for lunch but it’s what happens when the referee blows the whistle.
“The only booking was for [Cristiano] Ronaldo for United and I’m not saying go get seven cards because that won’t win you the game but you have to show emotion in the game.
“When I haven’t been at the races I think I might smash into somebody to make me feel better and sometimes it gets a reaction. This is a derby game and I totally understand why fans would leave after an hour and I’m always critical of fans leaving early.”
