VIDEO: Chelsea and Leeds players clash in heated scenes at full time

A video has emerged showing Chelsea and Leeds United players clash in heated scenes at full time in Saturday’s Premier League game.

It threatened to boil over as the final whistle blew – both sets of players decided to push and shove each other, but that won’t change the result.

Chelsea keep in touch with Manchester City and Liverpool picking up an entertaining 3-2 win over Marcelo Bielsa’s side at Stamford Bridge.

Jorginho scored an injury-time penalty – his second of the game – to give Chelsea all three points, with the Blues moving to within two points of Manchester City.

After conceding six goals in their last two games, Tuchel’s defence were breached again when Raphinha scored from the penalty spot on 28 minutes following a challenge on Dan James by Marcos Alonso.

Chelsea looked nervous whilst staging a response, though Mason Mount scored what looked a crucial equaliser just before the break when turning home a cross from Alonso.

They went ahead on the 58th of minute when Jorginho converted from the penalty after a VAR review had deemed Raphinha’s challenge on Antonio Rudiger a foul that was originally missed by referee Chris Kavanagh.

However the Blues messed up again at the back, allowing Joe Gelhardt, just 81 seconds after coming off the bench, to draw Leeds level.

There was still time for one more spot kick when Rudiger was tripped again in injury-time, this time from behind by Mateusz Klich and, Jorginho kept his cool for the win.

POST-MATCH REACTION

Chelsea midfield Jorginho: “It was very important to have these three points. We had a tough game, Leeds are a tough opponent but we deserved the win. The last-minute goal was just amazing. The whole stadium felt so good.”

“We can always give more. If you gave an extra 10% today we can improve again. We always need to want to improve to do more.”

On playing with a back injury: “My back is not in the best condition, but [sometimes] you need to push yourself more to help the team. That’s what I needed to do. It’s hard, but I pushed to help my team.”

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel to Sky Sports: “It was a nice game of football. Very intense and I’m very happy with how we played.

“I think we deserved to win but of course it’s lucky when you have a late goal in extra time. But coming back twice is very impressive and I’m very happy we turned things around. It was tough work but we didn’t expect anything else.

“We were lucky, we needed this. We were unlucky in last two games conceding very late goals so maybe this is exactly what we needed.”

On Jorginho’s two penalties: “It’s not so easy two score two penalties. I wasn’t sure if he would take the second one. We believe in our players, it’s not easy so full credit to him.

On the importane of this win: “There’s no alternative to winning in this dressing room. We have two days off now as we play again on Thursday. I’m really happy for the team and the staff that we have these two days with a feeling that we have turned things around.

“There are things to improve as always but I’m very happy with the result.”

On the bust-up between the two sets of players at the final whistle: “Emotions were boiling. I think it’s normal. I didn’t hear it was anything serious so all good.”

Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa to MOTD: “It was a game we deserved to draw and we lost it when it was finishing. That increases the disappointment.”

On penalties: “What the the referee decided was fine.”

“It is very difficult to make a team like Chelsea play worse. It is also very difficult to attack a team like this. In a way we managed to achieve both things. We could attack and we managed to make them not play as well as they can do.

“[Gelhardt] is a player whose great virtue is his finishing and I’m happy that in such few minutes he was able to impact the game.”

On frustrations at the end: “It was a minor episode without importance. Of course we always prefer that not to happen, but I don’t assign any gravity to it. The emotional weight of the game was very big, it was a beautiful game full of emotions. Sometime when that happens the passion goes overboard. I thought it was all within the limits that are tolerable.”
