• Harry Wilson is set to move to Cardiff City on loan from Liverpool before today’s domestic transfer deadline. Swansea and Bristol City are ready to rival them for his signature. Reading interested too.
• Middlesborough are attempting to complete a deal to sign Yannick Bolasie on loan from Everton. The 31-year-old winger almost joined Boro two years ago but decided to move to then-Championship rivals Aston Villa instead. Talks have already taken place and it is understood Bolasie is keen on a move to the Riverside. Everton would need to subsidise a large chunk of Bolasie’s wages for the deal to happen.
• Barnsley have agreed a deal to sign Liverpool midfielder Herbie Kane on loan.
• According to the Watford Observer, Crystal Palace retain an interest in signing 22 year old Watford attacker Ismaila Sarr. A report states that the Eagles made contact with the forward’s representatives as early as August, while they also tried to sign the Senegal international before he moved to Vicarage Road.
• Brentford’s Said Benrahma underwent the first part of West Ham medical on Thursday, the second part is scheduled for Friday morning.
• Manchester City and Wales midfielder Matt Smith is set to join Doncaster Rovers on loan.
• According to West London Sport, Sheffield Wednesday are the frontrunners in the race to sign Chelsea’s Jake Clarke-Salter on loan ahead of Huddersfield Town.
• Leeds defender Barry Douglas is undergoing a medical at Blackburn Rovers.
• Nottingham Forest are confident of agreeing a loan deal for Fulham winger Anthony Knockaert before today’s transfer deadline.

• Birmingham boss Aitor Karanka is looking bolster his defence before the EFL transfer window closes on Friday, with Stoke centre-back Danny Batth in mind. Batth is surplus to requirements at the Bet365 Stadium and a number of clubs have made contact with Stoke about his availability. The Potters are ready to let him leave on loan and Karanka is keen to take him to Birmingham.
• Southampton winger Josh Sims is due for a medical at Doncaster Rovers today after loan deal agreed
• Sheffield Wednesday are leading the chase to land Stoke City striker Lee Gregory, 32-year-old is currently available for transfer, with Stoke happy to let the former Millwall man move on. Middlesbrough also interested.
• Charlton Athletic have made a six-figure bid for Boreham Wood winger Sorba Thomas.
• The Telegraph has claimed that Crystal Palace are set to make a late move to sign Stoke City and former England goalkeeper Jack Butland before Friday’s 5pm deadline, with Butland having entered the final 12 months of his contract at Stoke.
• According to the Eastern Daily Press, Blackburn Rovers have made an approach to sign Norwich City midfielder Tom Trybull on a loan deal.
• Barnsley have had a (reportedly seven-figure) bid for Doncaster Rovers captain Ben Whiteman rejected and with signing a replacement impossible after 5pm today, Moore insists his old club have left it too late.
• Karl Robinson’s Oxford United are still on the lookout for a winger as they attempt to do some business before today’s transfer deadline. One of their top targets fell through this week. Marcus Browne looked set to be available, but the U’s hopes of bringing him on loan for a third time were ended after parent club Middlesbrough opted to keep him on Teesside.
• Phil Parkinson will likely target out-of-contract defenders as he looks to strengthen his injury-hit Sunderland squad. The Black Cats boss also admitted a couple of potential loan signings have fallen through this week due to the salary-cap. (Various)
• Hull City boss Grant McCann provided an update on his club’s position. “We’re happy with the group we’ve got. We’re quite strong and the players are coming back to fitness now. We’ve got good cover in every position. We’re looking to try and get one or two out on loan.”
• Reading boss Veljko Paunovic admitted in his press conference yesterday that there are still three spots in his squad vacant and if there was an opportunity to bring players in then it’s something they would seriously consider. The Serbian did not rule out dipping into the free agent market too in a bid to bring in fresh faces.
• Reading boss Veljko Paunovic has quashed talk of an exit for star man Michael Olise before Friday’s deadline. Olise, who has been in hugely impressive form this season, has been linked with a move away from the club, with Leeds United, Arsenal and Wolves said to be keen. However, Paunovic dismissed the rumour and insisted he had not heard anything about it.
• Swansea City boss Steve Cooper has conceded that star defender Joe Rodon could well join Spurs before the transfer deadline, but insisted that he won’t be sold on the cheap. Tottenham want to pay around £10 million for Welsh centre-back Joe Rodon, with Swansea City wanting around £15 million. If a fee is agreed, personal terms would be a formality. (Wales Online)
• Portsmouth look to have ended their pursuit of Millwall midfielder Ben Thompson, with the midfielder set to remain with the Lions despite struggling for first team football under Gary Rowett. Pompey have again made Duncan Turnbull available for loan in a bid to aid his development.
• Sheffield Wednesday manager Garry Monk insists that retaining talismanic captain Barry Bannan is a non-negotiable as far as he is concerned. Had been linked with Brentford.
• Bournemouth are plotting a last-minute loan move for Aston Villa defender Frederic Guilbert, according to Football Insider.
• Nottingham Forest are still keen on sealing a deal with West Brom for winger Kamil Grosicki, as per the Telegraph’s John Percy.
• Brentford are looking to tie down Danish midfielder Emiliano Marcondes to new contract with Said Benrahma set to follow Ollie Watkins out the exit door.
• Huddersfield’s Terence Kongolo has turned down the chance to play Europa League football at AZ Alkmaar in favour of a return to Fulham, according to Algemeen Dagblad.
• Vladimir Ivic’s side have ‘considered’ QPR’s Ryan Manning and Cardiff City’s Joe Bennett, as well as Chelsea’s Baba Rahman. Will depend on if Watford can offload one or two of their players.
• Newcastle United appear to be working to find a way to offload Rolando Aarons before Friday’s deadline passes, with the Daily Mail reporting that the Magpies have held talks with Huddersfield Town over a potential move.
• Bristol Rovers are still active in the window. Working on a deal for left-wing-back Ali Koiki, who is a free agent after turning down a contract at Burnley. Should Rovers get the deal done before Friday’s 5pm deadline, the Clarets will be due compensation for the 21-year-old. Tom Mehew is expected to leave on loan to gain more experience, while veteran midfielder Abu Ogogo is effectively transfer listed and can find a new club.
• Neil Critchley says Blackpool will continue to work tirelessly until today’s 5pm transfer deadline in a bid to further bolster their squad. Jamie Devitt is one of those players who could depart the club, having recently been linked with a loan move to League Two side Newport County.
• Russell Martin speaking on MKFM says there’s a chance of a little bit of activity at Stadium MK today – potentially both in and out. “The phone was going off last night so there might be a little of activity. It wouldn’t surprise me if nothing happened, though.”
• Ipswich Town boss Paul Lambert on loan departures: “Something might happen with Ben Folami later on. It’s unlikely others will go because we need them now given the injury situation.”
• Grimsby Town manager Ian Holloway wants new striker ahead of transfer deadline day. “I wouldn’t mind another forward. I wouldn’t mind another goalscorer if I can find one to put pressure on all the other goalscorers, because they aren’t scoring enough goals at the moment. “We’ve only scored in one game, we haven’t scored in the others and we should have. How many chances did we have in those games, and we should have scored. “I wouldn’t mind another one, whether I’ll get one or not, who knows.” As for outgoings, Holloway says none of his other players will be joining Jock Curran, Cameron Painter, Joey Hope and Alhagi Touray Sisay out on loan.
• A quiet transfer deadline day is expected at Exeter City expected with Randell Williams set to stay “We are not close, unless the right kind of player becomes available,” Matt Taylor said when asked if any deals were likely.
