Leeds United have had a third loan-to-buy bid rejected for Southampton striker Che Adams. The initial loan deal included a £20m permanent transfer in the summer if Leeds are promoted to the Premier League.

– Ipswich Town and Sunderland are both targetting the loan signing of Manchester City youngster Matt Smith. The 20-year-old midfielder is currently on loan at QPR but is likely to be recalled over lack of game time.
– Leeds United are ‘confident’ Manchester City winger Ian Poveda will be heading to Elland Road after a breakthrough in negotiations, according to Football Insider.
– Blackburn Rovers have had a £2m bid rejected by Lech Poznań for Kamil Jozwiak.
– AC Milan and Southampton have both inquired about signing Nottingham Forest right-back Matty Cash.
– Burton manager Nigel Clough has revealed that the club has rejected two bids for striker Liam Boyce.
– Leicester and Sheffield United are among the clubs in the chase for Bristol City midfielder Josh Brownhill. He has a £7 million release clause in his Robins contract, only comes into effect during the summer transfer window but City will consider higher offers this month if they come in.
– Hibernian boss Jack Ross has hinted he’s interested on signing Reading striker Marc McNulty during the January transfer window, amid reports he could leave Sunderland.
– Brighton have agreed a deal to turn Aaron Mooy’s loan move from Huddersfield into a permanent deal.
– Sheffield Wednesday appear to be no closer in their quest to sign Crystal Palace frontman Connor Wickham on loan as it appears as if his 60k-per-week wages are the major stumbling block from any temporary switch happening.
– Nottingham Forest have been linked with a potential move for Strasbourg forward Nuno da Costa. According to French newspaper L’Alsace, the Reds are reportedly ready to spend €1.5m in order to secure the 28-year-old’s services this month. However, Strasbourg are understood to be holding out for a €2.5m fee.
– Stoke City midfielder Joe Allen has responded rumours linked him to Burnley and a return to the Premier League, believing he will remain at the club beyond January. (Various)
– Spanish midfielder Guille Amor, 19 and Spanish forward Rafa Mujica, 21, are set to leave Leeds United this month. (Yorkshire Evening Post)
– Bolton Wanderers manager Keith Hill says he is confident the club will secure more new signings between now and the end of the January transfer window.
– West Brom have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of Dinamo Zagreb forward Mislav Orsic, with Slaven Bilic keen to add two new names to the Baggies squad this month. Martin Olsson still on trial at the club as reported by The Express and Star.
– Derby County remain keen on signing Leicester City defender Filip Benkovic on loan for the rest of the season.
– It is unlikely that either Hull‘s Jarrod Bowen or Newcastle‘s Dwight Gayle will be making the switch to West Brom, according to The Athletic’s Steve Madeley.
– Cardiff City are not willing to let Will Vaulks leave this transfer window, despite a lack of game time. Bristol City were one of a number of clubs linked with the midfielder, along with Stoke City and Sunderland.
– Middlesbrough head coach Jonathan Woodgate has suggested to Teesside Live that centre-back Dael Fry is ‘not for sale’ amidst interest from Premier League side Burnley. Though would be swayed if a club was to bid £30 million for the defender.
– Bristol City are considering a bid for West Ham forward Kai Corbett following a spell on trial with the Robins in the recent 2-2 draw with QPR, The Athletic reports.
– Sky Sports have reported that Barnsley are looking to sign Wolfsberger AC centre-back Michael Sollbauer this month.
– Cardiff City have not ruled out a move for Stoke City striker Lee Gregory, according to the latest reports.
