• Lionel Messi will boycott Barcelona’s first day of training today, stepping up his efforts to force a move to Manchester City. (Source: Mail on Sunday)
• Manchester United have been in contact with Donny Van de Beek’s agents for weeks. Ajax would accept a bid of around €40m and the player is interested in playing in the Premier League.
• Newcastle are close to signing Arsenal centre-back Rob Holding on a season-long loan deal. (The Athletic)
• Everton have agreed a deal with Napoli to sign midfielder Allan for €25m. (Sky Italia)
• Everton are interested in signing Manchester United’s Sergio Romero. Leeds United are also keen.
• Chelsea have received an enquiry about Tammy Abraham from his former club Aston Villa, according to reports.
• Fiorentina have gatecrashed Lazio’s negotiations for Tottenham target Vedat Muriqi, who enjoyed a prolific first season with Fenerbahce, scoring 17 goals in 36 games.
• Chelsea would be willing to sell N’Golo Kanté this summer if a bid of over €50m comes in. Inter Milan and Antonio Conte are keen. (Source: Gazzetta dello Sport)
• Aston Villa are preparing a £10million offer for Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez. Leeds also have their eyes on him, though they are amongst 10 clubs wanting the shot-stopper.
• West Ham have joined Leeds in the race for Shakhtar Donetsk defender Mykola Matviyenko, according to reports.
• Chelsea are set to move for £80m-rated West Ham midfielder Declan Rice, which could take their summer spending above £250m. (Daily Mail)
• Tottenham’s Ivory Coast defender Serge Aurier, 27, has rejected a move to Wolves as part of the proposed deal taking Republic of Ireland’s Matt Doherty, 28, in the other direction. (Daily Star Sunday)
• Newcastle have also enquired about signing Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles, 23, but have been put off by the £25m asking price. The Gunners rejected a £15m offer from Wolves last week. (Sunday Telegraph)
• Newcastle have been linked with Porto’s 29 year old Mali striker Moussa Marega. (A Bola)
• Galatasaray are preparing shock move for Manchester United star Fred with the Turkish giants set to make a loan bid for the Brazilian midfielder.
• Chelsea have reportedly returned with an improved offer for Rennes’ goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, after their opening bid of £15m was rejected.
• Leeds United are reportedly looking to offload goalkeeper Kiko Casilla this summer. (Mail on Sunday)
• Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is unlikely to allow Ryan Kent to leave Ibrox this summer, with Leeds’ bid for the 23-year-old winger said to be ‘in trouble’. (Sun on Sunday)
• Brighton have made enquiries for Stade Reims’ 23-year-old attacker Boulaye Dia during the ongoing summer transfer window. The youngster has previously interetsed fellow French club Olympique de Marseille. (L’Equipe)
• West Brom and Sheffield United are in talks over potential Callum Robinson and Oliver Burke swap. Burke was bought by West Brom for £15m back in 2017 and has spent time on loan at Celtic. (Express and Star)
• Sheffield United are set to miss out on yet another transfer target Darwin Nunez, who is about to join Benfica. The Blades have been linked with a move for Nunez, with Almeria wanting around £18m for the striker. (La Voz de Almeria)
• Wolves are set to increase their £15m bid for Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles, who is rated at £25m by the north London side. (Sunday Express)
• Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo is stalling on signing a new contract due to worries over his transfer funds. (Sunday Mirror)
• Burnley. Taking a surprise interest in Italian forward Francesco Margiotta. Plays in Switzerland for Luzern (Alan Nixon)
• Burnley. Only prepared to go to 4 for Worrall. That won’t do the job. Forest value well over that figure. (Alan Nixon)
• Liverpool. Want 20 million for Harry Wilson. That is keeping admirers Newcastle Leeds and Villa from coming in at this point. (Alan Nixon)
• Man U. Got all clear from FA on signing of young striker Joe Hugill from Sunderland. Had been held up for a bit because done during lockdown. All good now. (Alan Nixon)
• Lincoln City are hoping to beat Northampton to the signing of West Brom youngster and Cobblers playoff hero Callum Morton.
• Brentford want £25m each for Benrahma and his teammate Ollie Watkins with Aston Villa, Fulham and West Ham keen.
• Brentford are also braced for offers from Arsenal for goalkeeper David Raya while left-back Rico Henry has interest from Brighton and West Brom.
• Luton’s Nathan Jones also hasn’t ruled out going trying to sign Tottenham Hotspur defender Cameron Carter-Vickers on a permanent basis.
• Jacob Murphy is pleased with the way pre-season is going for him at Newcastle United. He scored a penalty for the Magpies against Barnsley this weekend. He’s currently linked with Derby County, Nottingham Forest, Stoke City, Middlesbrough, Rangers and Sheffield Wednesday.
• Coventry City boss Mark Robins says the club are moving in on their ninth signing of the summer and that a further two could follow before the end of the transfer window. Could be West Brom midfielder Sam Field, Arsenal’s Ben Sheaf or Manchester United duo James Garner and Di’shon Bernard.
• Liverpool have been interested in Ismaila Sarr since he put in a stellar performance against them for Watford and Jurgen Klopp may get his man after they ramped up their efforts.
• Aston Villa’s quest to land Brentford striker Ollie Watkins looks set to end in success, with The Sun reporting that the Villans are prepared to offer their target a £70,000-a-week contract.
• Aston Villa are set to complete the signing of Nottingham Forest defender Matty Cash next week, Football Insider understands.
• Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson has made no secret of his wage demands, if anyone is going to bid for him this summer. He may have frozen a few clubs out by asking for £75,000 a week, but Tottenham are willing to meet those demands, according to the Daily Express.
