• Peterborough United are keen on Huddersfield Town midfielder Reece Brown for a permanent move but reports claim Posh chief Darragh MacAnthony says the 24-year-old’s wages are too high for the League One club.
• Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson has made no secret of his wage demands, if anyone is going to bid for him this summer. He may have frozen a few clubs out by asking for £75,000 a week, but Tottenham are willing to meet those demands, according to the Daily Express.
• Aston Villa are set to complete the signing of Nottingham Forest defender Matty Cash next week, Football Insider understands.
• Aston Villa’s quest to land Brentford striker Ollie Watkins looks set to end in success, with The Sun reporting that the Villans are prepared to offer their target a £70,000-a-week contract.
• Liverpool have been interested in Ismaila Sarr since he put in a stellar performance against them for Watford and Jurgen Klopp may get his man after they ramped up their efforts.
• Blackburn Rovers manager Tony Mowbray hopes a new arrival at Ewood Park is imminent. He revealed Rovers’ recruitment team is ‘working around the clock’ to bring in fresh faces ahead of the 2020/21 season.
• Coventry City boss Mark Robins says the club are moving in on their ninth signing of the summer and that a further two could follow before the end of the transfer window. Could be West Brom midfielder Sam Field, Arsenal’s Ben Sheaf or Manchester United duo James Garner and Di’shon Bernard.
• Luton boss Nathan Jones has confirmed the club didn’t attempt to re-sign Chelsea midfielder Izzy Brown on loan this season.
• According to a report from London News Online, Luton Town have agreed a deal to sign Charlton Athletic defender Tom Lockyer on a free transfer. QPR have also been linked.
• Luton’s Nathan Jones also hasn’t ruled out going trying to sign Tottenham Hotspur defender Cameron Carter-Vickers on a permanent basis.
• Jacob Murphy is pleased with the way pre-season is going for him at Newcastle United. He scored a penalty for the Magpies against Barnsley this weekend. He’s currently linked with Derby County, Nottingham Forest, Stoke City, Middlesbrough, Rangers and Sheffield Wednesday.
• Brentford are lining up a £5million move for Germany U21 international forward Robin Hack, a 22-year-old Nuremburg winger, as a potential replacement for Said Benrahma who is wanted by a number of Premier League clubs. He scored ten goals in 31 appearances last season.
• Brentford want £25m each for Benrahma and his teammate Ollie Watkins with Aston Villa, Fulham and West Ham keen.
• Brentford are also braced for offers from Arsenal for goalkeeper David Raya while left-back Rico Henry has interest from Brighton and West Brom.
• Sheffield Wednesday and Queens Park Rangers are among the clubs interested in signing Jordan Jones from Rangers in the summer transfer window, according to The Daily Record.
• Reading are poised to make ‘six or eight’ new signings now, according to talkSPORT, to back their new boss as they gear up for the new season.
• QPR goalkeeper Dillon Barnes is closing in on a loan move to Scottish side Hibernian according to the Scottish Sun.
• Portsmouth are interested in making move for Gillingham striker Brandon Hanlan, according to The News.
• Northampton boss Keith Curle says he’s hopeful of bringing in at least two new players in the early part of next week.
• Lincoln City are hoping to beat Northampton to the signing of West Brom youngster and Cobblers playoff hero Callum Morton.
• Sunderland are set to complete a deal to sign Arbenit Xhemajli after a successful trial period with the club according to Roker Report.
• Burnley. Only prepared to go to 4 for Worrall. That won’t do the job. Forest value well over that figure. (Alan Nixon)
