Chris Davies was left ‘disappointed’ with officials over decisions in Birmingham’s 2-1 defeat to Norwich on Wednesday night.
Birmingham thought they had gone ahead on the 23rd minute, Liam Millar with a goal ruled out after being deemed to have been offside.
Then Oscar Schwartau produced a stunner to put the Canaries ahead on shortly after, then Papa Diallo doubled the lead. Carlos Vicente got one back for Birmingham with 25 minutes of the second half remaining, but Norwich held firm for thew in.
The result sees Norwich up to 9th with 9 points from 6 games played, Birmingham meanwhile are 15th with 7 points from 6 games.

Birmingham boss Chris Davies said, as per Sky Sports:
“In my 118 games in charge I can’t remember feeling so disappointed with the officials as I am tonight. So many decisions went against us.
“We started really well and scored a goal from an onside position so I have been told.
“I hate VAR re-refereeing games for fouls because that is subjective, but offside is objective, you are either on or off, and I think it should be used in this league for incidents like that.
“Having said that we have to take responsibility for the next 15 minutes when we were far too open and conceded two goals that were far too easy for them.
“In the end that gave us too much to do but outside that spell we kept on going, got a deserved goal and might have got an equaliser at the end but unfortunately it wasn’t to be.”
Norwich boss Philippe Clement:
“We were up against a team who are very direct, a team who have won the most headed duels in the Championship this season, so it was important that we stepped up to the challenge.
“I am delighted to say that all the players did that. I think the fans could see they were giving everything out there to get the result we all wanted.
“At times we were able to play our football but we had to win our battles too. It is a really important step in the journey we are taking with this club.
“It is not the sort of football I like to see too much but I am delighted with the result. We have a really good group of players here, I love them all, and I feel they can do something special.”

Here’s the social media reaction as Chris Davies reveals he is ‘disappointed’ with officials over decisions in Birmingham’s defeat to Norwich…
@ben_flavelle: I thought we played well, CD did the best he could with what we had on the field but no Solis and no Roberts was probably the difference. Shame about the goal being disallowed, not once was Millar offside in the build up. Shocking decision.
@kaiden1875: Millar goal stands, different game 🤷♂️
@Jackmarley98: I feel sorry for Davies. Set us up tactically well, ref mugging us off & has to work with them 2 mongs in midfield
@LouisFinne52395: Norwich won’t get a luckier win all season. Their best player was wearing a black kit.
@Realintelligent: Any thoughts? I’ve consistently said the championship needs VAR because the officials are shocking but each manager has the choice of two VAR calls per half. The last 5 mins of each half, only the Ref can choose to use it. #BCFC #KRO #EFL
@NathanRKRO: Worst refereeing performance of the season so far? Only player I’d say was any good was Stanno today. Cannot have a single negative word about Davies today it was the players that crumbled not his tactics #BCFC #bcfc
@stellytalks: A familiar feeling. Officials were all MOTM’s tonight.
@BloozEXTRA: Robbed by unforgivable officiating. Club has to be writing the PGMOL after this one.
@joshyy_Daviss: Officials fucked us there. Still should have scored more goals.
@callummarlow_: Can’t put that one on Davies, zero squad depth, perfectly fine goal disallowed, Vicente’s miss, poor ref. He got it tactically right but tonight wasn’t our night. Must win Saturday!
@MikeyBCFC: The game turned when we were disallowed the Millar goal. But we had chances. Beadle kept us in it to be fair. But there are number of players that are not Championship level. We know who they are. Lost to a crap side and that’s what’s frustrating #kro
@chris_skudder: Useless EFL officials. Nothing wrong with that at all. Came off a Norwich head before Millar scored. Wasn’t even offside. Pathetic. All over them. Stanno dominating in the 10.
@Alan_B_Millar: I’m sorry that one of the worst refereed games I’ve seen in a very long time … shocking
