• Middlesbrough boss Neil Warnock wants to raid his old club Cardiff City for veteran defender Sol Bamba, TEAMtalk understands.

• Bristol City winger Jonny Smith is a target for Wycombe Wanderers and a number of unnamed League One clubs.

• Aston Villa are poised to make an opening bid of £18m for Brentford striker Ollie Watkins, but the Championship club want £25m. (Daily Mail)

• Highly-rated Accrington defender Callum Johnson has rejected a new deal and could sign a pre-contract agreement in January with several Scottish sides interested, including Aberdeen and Hibs. Luton are also keen on Johnson.

• Blackburn Rovers have made a move for AA Gent goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski. The two clubs are understood to have agreed a fee for the player but negotiations over personal terms are still ongoing.

• Sheffield Wednesday are lining up a loan move for West Brom attacker Jonathan Leko, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke on Twitter

• Southampton are interested in signing Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland. Angus Gunn could move to Stoke as part of the deal, which could be finalised in the coming weeks. (Source: The Times)

• Barnsley are interested in Hertha Berlin forward Pascal Köpke, with Gerhard Struber looking to add to his squad this summer.

• On Wednesday, the Portuguese press wrote that Nottingham Forest were ‘very close’ to signing David Tavares from Benfica. Sources from the club are not aware of player’s potential move.

• Championship sides Swansea City and Nottingham Forest want 29-year-old French centre-back Mathieu Peybernes, who plays for second tier Spanish side UD Almeria. (Radio Marca)

• Brighton defender Matt Clarke looks to be heading for Derby County, who want to take him on loan for a second consecutive season.

• Peterborough United director of football Barry Fry has urged the club’s star striker Ivan Toney to stay on for another season as Posh seek to gain promotion to the Championship. Toney has been linked with a host of clubs during the transfer window, including Brentford and Celtic.

• Queens Park Rangers are being touted with a move for Charlton Athletic and Wales defender Tom Lockyer, 25, reports journalist Sean Gallagher.

• Huddersfield Town are lining-up a bid for Benfica B forward Chris Willock, reports Yorkshire Live. The 22 year old spent the first-half of last season on-loan at West Brom without making a single league appearance, before joining the Terriers for the second.

• Coventry City boss Mark Robins remains in the race to make a summer move for Nottingham Forest’s Tyler Walker. Hull and Peterborough have also been linked.

• Celtic are weighing up a bid for Reading captain Liam Moore, 27, reports the Daily Record.

• Bournemouth are placing a £15million asking price on Lewis Cook as Leeds United line up a stunning move for their old boy, Football Insider has learned.

• Aston Villa defender James Bree is set to seal a permanent exit from Villa Park to join Luton Town, as per Football Insider.

• Brentford have launched a £7million bid for Lorient forward Pierre-Yves Hamel according to Sky Sports.

• According to the Evening Express, Bristol City attacker Marley Watkins is closing in on a short-term loan move to Scottish side Aberdeen.

• Blackburn have made their move for AA Gent goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski in their long search to land a new No1. The two clubs are understood to have agreed a fee for the 27-year-old who is into the final year of his deal at the Belgian club. Medical expected next week.

• Birmingham City are among a clutch of unnamed Championship clubs interested in signing Cardiff City goalkeeper Neil Etheridge, WalesOnline has learned.

• Grimsby defender Mattie Pollock, likened to Harry Maguire, is attracting strong interest from Sheffield United, Crystal Palace and Brighton. (Daily Mail)

• A report from Gloucestershire Live has claimed that Peterborough United are “on the verge” of signing Cheltenham Town playmaker Ryan Broom after the two clubs agreed on a six-figure fee. Previously had a bid of £150,000 rejected.
