Sheffield Wednesday fans criticise shocking pricing of 2023/24 season tickets

Sheffield Wednesday fans criticise shocking pricing of 2023/24 season tickets which were revealed earlier this week ahed of the playoffs.

Sheffield Wednesday announced increased prices for season tickets for the 2023/24 season, revealing an increase in prices across all ticket forms.

Questions are being asked if the Owls, who finished 3rd in League One, should have thought about the cost of living crisis that is affecting thousands of fans, and whether a price increase is appropriate.

They currently have 93 points from 45 games played, four points from 2nd but one game left to play with playoffs settled.

CLUB STATEMENT:

As mentioned, Sheffield Wednesday fans, among others, criticise the shocking pricing of the 2023/24 season tickets…

@MollyShep: If you’re going to rob the fans, maybe wait until after the play offs to announce it. An already frustrated fan base now absolutely furious ahead of hopefully 3 massive games. It would have been a sweeter pill to swallow if we knew it would be for championship football. Top job 🤪

@shawberryfields: These prices are appalling. Feel for genuine supporters being priced out of going to matches. Everyone should have the opportunity to go to games and support their team (Sheff U fan)

@Craigsimmonite1: Bit steep that for a league one season ticket how so you expect to attract new fans unaffordable for a lot of family’s only 400 quid at the sty and there going to be in the prem this needs a rethink Yr damaging the future of the club

@neilbono: £720 for league one football. Put that in to comparison to sheff utds who’s most expensive are £490 For the best stand and premier league football. The kids are 200. This club needs to have a look at itself.

@SteelCityLewis1: £500 for a League 1 season ticket on the north stand for under 25 🤣🤣🤣 stick those prices up your arse

@DPaggiossi: It’s only £400 at the lane for Prem football! 😡😡🤢🤢🤢

@Nantwich_Owls: I know that costs of everything has gone up but there must be a better way to bring the club back to the basics of protect the community 1st & making people feel welcome. People will spend money if they think it’s a good deal for a family or a cheaper day out 🤷🏽‍♀️ #swfc #wawaw

@linton1985: “We need the fans” 😂😂😂😂 prices say different

@alfiereynolds12: chansiri out

@KerrieRoebuck: Wow that’s expensive given that I will be watching my Blades in the PL for £200 less. Feel for you fans.

@hardytm2009: These prices are outrageous and i genuinely feel sorry for the fans that want to go everyweek. Over £31 a ticket for the south stand in league one is absurd. I’ve just renewed for under £400 on kop at bramall lane for premier league football.

@paulandrews22: 395 to 485 to 510 in each phase on the Kop for an adult so they’ll be c.550 in the next phase. Dread to think what match day prices will be based on that

@dannygeez23: Are you taking the piss?? Them prices are shocking!! Especially when they is a good chance we will still be in league one..

@jblundell1: 😂😂 Preston fan here . £280 for a adult at deepdale this season and the upcoming season . Keeping it the same price due to cost of living . Been to watch shef wed twice and both times I had a bloody post in my way 🤷‍♂️

@toomas76: £1040 to for me and my 2 kids. Mmm. Let’s remortgage

@rossinhosmith: Horrendous prices to watch league 1 football again

@OSimpson96: Should be ashamed of yourselves, aimed at DC. This is absolutely disgusting.

@Granty62owl: Those prices are a joke, will he ever learn 😡

@jfagej: Wow big increase on the last on sale prices and guess they might go up even further if #swfc win the playoffs !!!

@Neil1889: All banter aside.. but holy shit that’s expensive

@SwfcCal27: Prices are a disgrace

@jack_burditt: Been going since I was 5 years old season ticket holder for the last 15 years now I’m in the adult brackets I ain’t paying £490 for a season ticket daylight robbery….. should be fucking ashamed

@MlLindley: Wow are you having a laugh !!!!! ???

@RichardRedman18: That is an absolute con from a con artist, unsurprisingly. Is he still flogging the 10 year Premier League season tickets? As long as you keep paying, he’ll keep charging.

@Jamesclle: That is disgusting. Should be ashamed. Owner taking the pee out of genuine fans. Fook that. All that is wrong with football. Though insuooose we are his customers as he once said. He needs to fook off and take Darren Moore with him 💩

@CP4573t5i543: Are you lot seriously out of touch with reality? Do this club not look at other clubs prices, facilities and think… Hang on a minute, this isn’t right… Absolute state of this club… Chansiri out…
