Serious head injury to Dover player stops match before Yeovil set club record 13th straight win

A serious head injury to a Dover Athletic player stops the match before opponents Yeovil Town set a club record 13th straight win.

There was a break in play on the 20th minute, with Peter Ojemen receiving treatment before being rushed to hospital.

After an 8 minute stoppage, the player was conscious and stretchered off, with Dover then taking to social media to provide an update.

The club tweeted: “Peter Ojemen is well and in hospital awaiting the relevant scans and tests. We’d like to thank the @YTFC staff and paramedics for their help and quick response during the game 🀝 Wishing you a speedy recovery Pete β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή”

The game saw Yeovil go on to earn a club record 13th consecutive win thanks to a Sonny Cox brace, which leaves them 6 points clear at the top of the National League South.

Sonny Cox gets his first goal in Green and White on 58 minutes before having the ball in the net again 8 minutes later, but the flag went up for Jake Hyde in the buildup.

Sonny Cox tried his luck again on 70 minutes, almost making it 2-0, but curled an effort just wide.

He made no mistake however with around 15 minutes remaining, firing in his second.

Sonny Cox had two more efforts in the final 5 minutes kept out. Quite the man of the match performance from the Glovers man.

When I first came here I was not expecting crowds this big at all and the fans are great every single week they follow us away home and yeah it’s great
