Police have hit out at a group of West Ham fans for what they did outside the London Stadium ahead of their cup clash at the weekend.
Metropolitan Police have criticised certain individuals for turning up at the ground before the Premier League club’s meeting with League One Doncaster Rovers.
In details being posted via the @MPSWestHamUtdFC Twitter account, the supporters travelled to the ground, in the hope that they could get some signatures.
This was in fact breaking Covid lockdown rules because it wasn’t essential travel, members of the public can do the following:
– Shop for basic necessities, for you or a vulnerable person
– Go to work, or provide voluntary or charitable services, if you cannot reasonably do so from home
– Exercise with your household (or support bubble) or one other person (in which case you should stay 2m apart). Exercise should be limited to once per day, and you should not travel outside your local area.
– Meet your support bubble or childcare bubble where necessary, but only if you are legally permitted to form one
– Seek medical assistance or avoid injury, illness or risk of harm (including domestic abuse)
– Attend education or childcare – for those eligible

After being questioned jokingly whether it was the individuals’ job to get autographs, @MPSWestHamUtdFC responded: “If it was their job i will check with HMRC to check if they are declaring earning”
One user, @GaryAPrince, wrote: “Good work, who were they reported to? Should they just be fined?”
To which the police replied with: “Its how it works in relation to Covid fixed penalty notices they are issued similar to traffic offences. Ie we report for the consideration of prosecution. We then do the paperwork and they are then sent an FPN through the post.”
@Mrs_R_Swipe was left surprised, saying: Wow. Five? Travelling as one group? Or five individuals? Beggars belief that they thought it was ok.
@MPSWestHamUtdFC added: 4 in the same car 1 walked off in a different direction
Fans continued to give their reaction as the police hit out at the group of West Ham fans for what they did outside the London Stadium…

@MarkAdamson15: Why are cars allowed to park so close to the
@LondonStadium? Major security risk and out of order parking on memorial stones.
@still1872: What if they had cycled for some exercise and bumped into the players ???
@MattyH14: What if they are collecting memorabilia to auction for charity?
@imramblingon: who was allowed to park their cars on the champions place? People have paid good money for those stones, did you do anything about that?
@GkWhu: Why were police there if no fans? Is that essential
@flicktokick: Name and Shame these idiots
@prideofeastldn: Where were you lot when Bojo was cycling around the gaff?

It comes weeks after West Ham’s Manuel Lanzini defied government ruling after London was placed in emergency restriction category Tier 4.
In the week leading up to Christmas it was announced that all those living in a Tier 4 area must not mix households and congregate together, or face breaking the law.
Social media photos were published showing Spurs trio Sergio Reguilon, Giovani Lo Celso and Erik Lamela, along with West Ham’s Manuel Lanzini defying rules.
Fans have also criticised Brois Johnson after he was spotted cycling at Olympic Park – which is seven miles from Downing Street and goes against his own guidance of “not travel outside your local area” for exercise.
