Three Tottenham players and one West Ham ace ‘broke Covid rules spending Christmas Day all together’ according to reports on Saturday.
The Premier League quartet ignored Tier 4 rules by spending Christmas Day together with their families and then foolishly posed for a group shot that was accidentally posted on Instagram, making themselves easy to get into trouble.
Sergio Reguilon, Giovani Lo Celso, Erik Lamela of Spurs and West Ham’s Manuel Lanzini are believed to have broken government Covid-19 rules.
In a photo which is believed to have been published by one of the footballer’s friends on Instagram, the four players can be seen pictured in one house with 11 other adults, two children and a baby.
Under government guidelines set out on the 19th of December 2020, those living in Tier 4 areas such as London were not permitted to mix with anyone outside their own household at Christmas.
Across the rest of the country, up to three households were allowed to meet on Christmas Day only.
It was a must that those living in Tier 4 areas stay at home, apart from limited exemptions set out in law which include work and education.
People are not allowed to meet others indoors, unless you are in the same house as them or they are part of your support bubble.
The gathering is believed to have taken place in Lo Celso’s place.
It is not clear where exactly Lo Celso’s house is located but the Instagram post of the player in the same house on New Years Eve tagged his location as ‘London’.
Lanzini also posted a picture of himself and family in the same house on Christmas Day, captioned: ‘Feliz Navidad.’
Lamela, Lo Celso and Lanzini are international team-mates for Argentina while Spanish international Reguilon joined Spurs from Real Madrid in the summer so you can understand why they are so close, however as they are in different households, they have broken the rules.
Tottenham played Wolves on the 27th of December with Reguilon and Lamela both making an appearance while Lo Celso is out with an injuru. Reguilon played a total of 63 minutes while Lamela came off the bench in the 84th minute.
Lanzini has played in all three of West Ham’s festive fixtures against Brighton, Southampton and Everton.
Spurs had their game on Wednesday called off following a coronavirus outbreak at Fulham.
Jose Mourinho’s Spurs take on Leeds on Saturday while West Ham ended up beating Everton 1-0 on Friday evening.
Spurs on Lamela, Lo Celso, Reguilon: “We’re extremely disappointed and strongly condemn this image showing some of our players with family and friends together at Xmas particularly as we know the sacrifices everybody around the country made to stay safe over the festive period.
The rules are clear, there are no exceptions, and we regularly remind all our players and staff about the latest protocols and their responsibilities to adhere and set an example. The matter will be dealt with internally.”
Fans took to social media recently to demand that Watford release a player of theirs for breaking lockdown rules a second time.
Hornets player Andre Gray has apologised for holding a coronavirus poker party with friends when his Little Mix girlfriend was away – months after previously flouting lockdown rules.
According to reports, the illegal gambling session was held at the £5million Surrey mansion he shares with fiancé Leigh-Anne Pinnock. Yet right now there is an England-wide ban on households mixing.
Video footage obtained by The Sun shows Gray behind a drinks bar at his home while friends sat around playing poker on Saturday night.
Earlier in day, he’d been injured in the 4-1 win over Preston in the second tier, putting them 3rd in the Championship table.
Gray, who pockets £50,000 a week, had six mates over for the party despite the country currently enduring another coronavirus lockdown with tougher laws right now.
A source said on the Watford player breaking lockdown rules again: “He was well aware that you’re not allowed friends round for a social in light of what’s going on – but he did it anyway.
“Leigh-Anne was away working with Little Mix so he thought it would be a good idea to get the boys round for a gambling session.
“It stinks of arrogance when you think of what the rest of the country is having to go through.”
It is the second time that the Watford footballer has broken coronavirus rules in just a matter of a few months.
Gray was slammed by then-boss Nigel Pearson in June after holding a birthday do at his property.
He was axed from the squad to avoid the risk of potentially catching and spreading Covid-19 to team-mates.
He was also forced to make a big apology to his gaffer and colleagues.
Two Chelsea players two months ago broke lockdown rules yet again, this time due to having a night out in London.
Callum Hudson-Odoi allegedly breached strict coronavirus guidelines along with teammate Fikayo Tomori as they mixed with others not from their household, according to reports.
The 20-year-old winger has previously “flouted” lockdown restrictions in May after sneaking a model that he had met online into his apartment.
Hudson-Odoi, who tested positive for Covid-19 in March, allegedly broke the rules for the second time as he ate out with friends including 22-year-old Tomori at a restaurant in Mayfair, The Daily Star reported.
Fans reacted after seeing that three Tottenham players and one West Ham ace ‘broke Covid rules spending Christmas Day together’…
@NathJones16: I mean, if you’re going to break the rules as a professional footballer, surely the last thing you do is ask your mate to get his camera out
@DMKStand: If Cavani gets three matches for poor choice of language, what do you get for this? Actual criminal, life endangering behaviour.
@westham009: Drop Lanzini for a start. Totally unacceptable if he has indeed broken the rules. Completely unacceptable.
@dwoodley1990: Fine the lot of them. This can’t be brushed under the carpet even as a Spurs fans
@mattkinkladze: The scariest thing about this….is that they are so thick they even pose for a photo that they surely know will end up on social media….
@ItsOnlyATweet: LOOOL just gve them all 10 match bans or dock the teams points.. because clearly a 10k fine wont work. Posing for pics & not even a single mask in sight.. basically the rules dont apply to rich people
@vella_jay: If you’re going to be stupid enough to break the rules, at least be smart enough not to take photo evidence of it
endangering the rest of the league. 3 game ban please.

Breaking the rules is one thing, but how thick do you have to be to be posing for photos

Didn’t Mourinho buy Reguilon a cooked pig on Xmas day because he was “alone”?
