Man Utd vs Sheffield Utd – Watch Live Match Stream Online

Our live stream ahead of Wednesdays Premier League match, Man Utd vs Sheffield Utd is now up, kicking off at 20.15 GMT

You can keep an eye on the commentary as it happens below, but first, we take a preview into the fixture, lineups, predictions and much more…

Man United maintained their good form with a 3-2 win over rivals Liverpool in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Sunday, with Bruno Fernandes yet again stepping up with the winner.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have now lost just one of their last 13 matches in all competitions, winning nine of those.

In the league, meanwhile, it is 13 games without defeat for United, most recently seeing off Fulham 2-1 last week through goals from Edinson Cavani and Paul Pogba.

It is a run that has seen them move temporarily into top spot, before Manchester City beat West Brom on Tuesday…

The Blades may have won three of their last four, but two of those victories have come against lower-league opponents in the FA Cup.

Chris Wilder’s men have collected just five points from a possible 57 in the league and remain on course to go down with the lowest points tally in Premier League history.

They lost 3-1 to Tottenham Hotspur in their most recent top-flight outing, while away from home they have avoided defeat just three times in their last 15 matches.

If that was not bad enough for the Yorkshire side, they have lost their last seven away league encounters with Man United in a run stretching back to August 1975.

LAST MEETING:

The two clubs last met back in December in a high scoring affair at Bramall Lane, with Manchester United winning 3-2…

PRESS CONFERENCE:

OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER

On beating Liverpool…

“Yes. It was a fantastic end to the game and what a way to win it with the free-kick. Of course, we knew before the game that it was a match between two teams with quality and we had to play one of our better games to get a result.

Physically, it was probably one of our top two or three games since I’ve come here and it was very positive in the way we lasted the whole 90 minutes plus.”

On what to expect from Sheffield United…

“Nothing other than what you always get against them. You get a hard game and you’ve got a team that is fighting for the manager.

“They’ve had a tough season this season, but you can still see that they’ve improved lately and they stay true to their principles and the manager’s principles.

“The tight game we had at Bramall Lane isn’t something we don’t expect now; it’ll be a similar type of game.”

On Lampard being sacked…

“The one thing I know with Frank is that he won’t want any of us to feel sorry for him. It’s not for me to comment really too much on what happens at different clubs, but they had a dip of form and that’s probably the first dip they’ve had under Frank and they made that decision.

I know I’ve had a few dips in form here at United, but we’ve had the long-term insight all the time. Apart from that, it’s always sad to see someone losing their job.”

CHRIS WILDER

On team news…

“We’re waiting on Lys Mousset but the others won’t be involved.

“So I think we’ve got potentially nine players unavailable out of our group for the trip on Wednesday.

“Fingers crossed there might be one or two of them back by the weekend but that’s a day-to-day observation.”

On Lampard sacking

“I understand different clubs and different back-stories to situations. I’ve got to know Frank through a couple of really competitive games at Derby.

“I’m really disappointed for Frank because time yet again is the key issue.

“I’m really disappointed for Frank because time yet again is the key issue.

“As always, whether it’s signings or building teams, it needs to be instant and immediate now.

I’ve messaged Frank and I’m sure he’ll go again.

“Frank had a lot to lose taking that job on but he hasn’t lost in my opinion.

“I think everybody knows the nature of certain clubs. I’m not so sure I’m putting myself in jeopardy by saying things about Chelsea and their recruitment because I’m not so sure I’ll be on their shortlist!

“But I think everyone recognises that club is a merry-go-round and you have to produce all the time.

“I don’t get it. I just wish Frank all the best going forward.”

On Man United…

“It’s a huge challenge but there’s nothing to lose.

“We have to produce something special to get out of the position we’re in.

“We need to do something out of the ordinary.

“One result can galvanise that.

“All we can do is affect our team and attitude and the way we go about it.

“Without being defeatist, if they play to the top of their ability it’ll be really tough for us.

THATSAGOAL TIP:

Bruno Fernandes Anytime Scorer – Evens with FanTeam.

Left out of the starting lineup to face Liverpool in the FA Cup, Bruno Fernandes wasted little time in making himself the name on everyone’s lips after stepping up to score the winner. The Portuguese midfielder has scored on a regular basis since joining the Red Devils and should have some joy against the league’s bottom side.

Sheffield United have endured an awful season and despite picking up their first win against Newcastle, look overwhelmingly likely to concede. United do not have a shortage of possible goalscorers but Fernandes is likely to be involved, nonetheless.
