Pep Guardiola gives a rather confusing cryptic interview after his Man City draw could only draw 2-2 with Crystal Palace.
In his initial interaction with the reporter, he provided several terse, one-sentence responses, leaving the interviewer baffled and seeking more in-depth answers.
As he proceeded to the post-match press conference, Guardiola’s irritation escalated, revealing a lack of patience during a perplexing exchange with a journalist.
When questioned about Rico Lewis’s second yellow card, which resulted in the midfielder’s dismissal in the 82nd minute, Guardiola offered a puzzling remark concerning Robert Jones’ decision.
I’ve watched it 3 times. Still no clue what he means.

“It’s because it’s Rico,” Guardiola said. The reporter followed up with, “Sorry?” asking for more explanation for whatever the Spaniard was saying, instead he says. “It’s Rico.”
“Sorry, I couldn’t understand you?” the journalist again asks. “It’s because it’s Rico,” Guardiola repeated.
The reporter, wanting some clarity, asked more specifically, “It’s because it’s Rico Lewis you think he got the yellow card?”
Guardiola then questioned. “It’s a yellow card?”
“No, I’m asking you, did you think it was a yellow card?” To which Guardiola responded, “It’s Rico Lewis.”
When asked how he thought the performance was, Pep said, “really good.”
When pressed for a follow-up, he said, “I like everything about my team, how we fought in this situation that we’re in.”
As the interviewer questioned more about the situation, Guardiola then gave nothing more than a comical shrug, indicating the answer was exceedingly obvious.
“Really good, I’m so proud, and I like everything from my team”

Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva to BBC Sport: “With Man City it’s always two points lost. One point is better than zero but we’re not happy at the moment. We know our situation with injuries. Coming to Crystal Palace is never easy but we have to do better.
“When I finish a game and I get a point I’m not happy. It’s not the way we built this team, it’s not our standard.
“We know how tough it is to come here when we have all our squad and we’re in top form. We have to do better, we have to react better to the second balls. We have to give them less opportunities on set-pieces.
“We created a few chances and that wasn’t our problem because we scored two.
“We’re in December. We’d like to be in a different position. If we recover our players quickly we can always do it. But right now our concern is a different one. If we’re fourth or fifth we have to look at winning the next game.
“The last month and a half have not been good enough.”
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola told BBC Sport: “We take a point. We fought incredible and came back twice.
“It’s a season to suffer. We’ll see what happens in the last month.
“We tried. Big compliment for the opponent.
“We cannot talk about the title race when we lose four games in a row and draw. We’ll try to recover players. We’ll see in the last month.
“We have to do more games to be consistent. It’s difficult in the situation we have. I’m really pleased for the players – they fought and did everything.”
Pep Guardiola told Sky Sports: “Really good. So proud of the team. I liked everything of the team, how we fought. We have a lot of problems with our squad.
“We fought incredible. We came back twice. It’s a difficult place to come. We struggled in the beginning. We gave everything and we take a point.
“Long balls, second balls, they’re stronger than us.
“We started the second half a bit sloppy. After 2-1 we reacted well.
“We lost another player defensively for the next game for a second yellow card.”
“I’m a bit disappointed, I feel it could have been more” 😒

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner told BBC Sport: “We are pleased with the point and many parts of the performance. It feels like if we’d performed at our best level we could have won the game.
“We had a few other good opportunities.
“An unbeaten week with draws against Newcastle and Manchester City, everything is fine. We want to improve and get better in some situations and we could win those games.
“After having the lead twice, especially after 2-1 we got too passive. It’s not that easy against City, it’s not a criticism of the players but when you’re in your own third it’s a matter of time. A gap of one yard they find it with one or two touches.
“An amazing finish from Danny. They were missing several headers, defenders, it’s an advantage. It’s not easy to find where you’er better than City. We have many.
“We never will see the team of last season because 10 players left us. The players are in a very good situation and shape. We have more and more options. The results give us confidence.”
Here’s how fans reacted as Pep Guardiola gives a confusing cryptic interview after Man City draw 2-2 with Crystal Palace…
@SPricey32: I don’t think he means anything. He knows if he says enough words the interviewer will give up or the interview will end
@Everton_Dad: Think it’s because the ref didn’t like his attitude for the 1st yellow card so couldn’t wait to give the 2nd. Which by the way was never a yellow card, ever.
@JonCPFCAllen: Their drop in form is starting to make sense now. From this interview it seems to indicate that his communication of tactics this season may involve single sentences like,
‘Beat Palace because it’s football’.
‘Must win because we lose points I scratch head’.
‘Kyle behave’.
@JoeMisTall: I love Pep but he does love to throw his toys out the pram when they don’t get 3 points. Hides behind it just “being Pep” with his weird turns of phrase
@Don_Falcone2: I think he’s lost the plot
@1dfawcett: This complete head loss from Pep is for the ages, top managers can ride the good and bad, he’s lost a few games for the first time and crumbled
@maxiarsenal: watching this live was so weird, couldn’t believe what I was hearing 🤣 pep doesn’t care tho if he makes sense ha
@TheCashCFC: Attempting to be cryptic and clever, but not pulling it off it. You can tell it’s getting to him.
@ETCCRob: Pep can go on the pitch and remonstrate with the ref, wonder if he’ll get fined and a warning like other managers? Course he won’t.
@Joel_McCormick: He is off his box this fella 😂😂😂 Insane
@SongbirdmusicL: What’s up with Pep now? Losing the plot, he makes no sense.
@Butcha79: He’s loosing it
@WarrenPrice_: His head has fully fell off. Imagine he had to manage a team without the luxuries he’s had at Man City.
