Brennan Johnson hits back at being criticised by Jamie O’Hara and Gabby Agbonlahor

Brennan Johnson hits back via social media at being criticised by talkSPORT’s Jamie O’Hara and Gabby Agbonlahor.

The two former footballers were giving their reaction to Crystal Palace and Everton swapping Dwight McNeil and Brennan Johnson.

Gabby Agbonlahor has now apologised to Brennan Johnson when giving a response to his comments on Instagram the following morning, Jamie O’Hara also posted a tweet…

Jamie O’Hara said: “I like Dwight McNeil. Brennan Johnson has been a myth for a few seasons, right? He didn’t do it at Spurs. One of our seasons he got top scorer, but hides in big games. Hides.”

Agbonlahor: “You look at both of them, their outputs. 16 Premier League appearances for Spurs [Johnson], two goals, zero assists. Then at Palace, zero goals, one assist.”

“Four yellows, in 18 appearances.

“Then Dwight McNeil last season, 22 appearances in the Premier League, zero goals, one assist. So he’s not doing enough as well.”

O’Hara: “I like Dwight McNeil. If I was going to look at a player on a football pitch and say who would I rather have, I’d take Dwight McNeil. He’s going to work hard, lovely left foot. He’ll give you something.

“Brennan Johnson… he’s so frustrating. He’s got all the attributes.”

Agbonlahor: “I agree. When I watch him, I’m like, you’re not using your pace. You’re so quick – use it right. When you get it, knock it past the player at the right time. Get a cross in. He’ll always make the wrong decision.

“And like you said, he’s happy to get it and pass it, and then he’s like, ‘Don’t give it back to me’.”

O’Hara: “I guess maybe that’s a confidence thing. Maybe David Moyes might be the right move. He’s got the attributes – he showed it at Nottingham Forest. Spurs bought him for 50 million quid.”

It caught the attention of Johnson then then replied to the video on Instagram: “Won more than both of these put together 😂”, with the comment getting over 14,000 likes.

Agbonlahor has since replied to Johnson’s comment when made aware by Alan Brazil on talkSPORT breakfast on Wednesday: “What did I do wrong? It was Jamie that said ‘cr*p for cr*p’.

“I want to apologise to Brennan Johnson. I could have not laughed, but when someone makes you laugh it’s natural to start laughing.

“I thought Jamie O’Hara was out of order. I think Jamie needs to apologise. You can’t say ‘cr*p for cr*p’. I thought Jamie was out of order looking back at that now.”

Jamie O’Hara meanwhile tweeted: “this the prob when you only listen to a clip and not full story, we were talking about Brennan and McNeil stats from last season which were CRAP not that they were bad players, I’m a fan of McNeill and also said Brennan has all the attributes but he would admit his season was crap.”

@rich_atkins: And good for him. Pair of clowns. I have expected O’Hara to show a little more respect given his spurs links. Brennan is a spurs legend. Does he have limitations – yes Did he score the most important goal for us in a generation – absolutely yes.
