A non league team concedes 96 goals in seven league fixtures after suffering an 18-1 defeat in down in Devon on Wednesday night.
Bovey Tracey FC set a new league record in the heavy win at Stoke Gabriel for the South West Peninsula League Premier Division East (10th tier of English football) encounter.
The away side were incredibly 7-0 up come the end of the first half, but got themselves a further eight goals in the second 45 minutes.
In Bovey Tracey’s previous league fixture, they ended up losing 8-0, also in an away fixture to Ilfracombe Town.
In Stoke Gabriel’s previous league fixture, they suffered another heavy defeat, this time a 13-0 defeat by Cullompton Rangers, who beat Bovey Tracey 4-2 in the game prior.
Stoke Gabriel have also lost 15-0 to Millbrook AFC and 14-0 against Torrington AFC.
After their 14-0 defeat to Torrington in September, the club ended up sacking their manager.
They started the season losing 15-0 at Torridgeside AFC, followed it up with a 13-0 defeat at the hands to Crediton United, then lost the third game 8-0 against Newton Abbot Spurs.
In their first seven games of the season, the club have conceded 96 goals in just seven league games played this season.
They wrote via their Twitter account: “The team we took to Torrington gave it all yesterday and did the club proud ,albeit a difficult game due to limited availability. As we move forward to bring in experienced players to support the younger players we feel confident for a positive season. Club Chairman”
Fans replied to that status, thanking them for keeping the optimism and hope going forward, however another tweet was posted by the club.
It read: “We as a club have not had the best of starts to the new season .On reflection of this we have had to release our first team manager Dale Timblin of his role after yesterdays game. We wish him well in the future.”
@Jimmy75310787 replied to @StokeGabrielAFC, saying: “Stop chucking stupid money to have 1 good season by bringing in money players, stop hoaring your pitch out to other clubs and putting your ressies on the crap 2nd pitch #trybuildingaclub“
@AAdmire_Banyan added: “So true! This club is being run into the ground after the experienced, decent, knowledge team that brought them to new heights were shown the door! New management should be ashamed!
The league table obviously makes for very dismal reading for Stoke Gabriel, take a look at it below…

Fans reacted after seeing that the non league team concedes 96 goals in seven league fixtures…
Sorry folks, but the Stoke Gabriel situation does not reflect well on your league at all. I have watched them a few times over the years and follow the league from afar, but that is now embarrassing.

What do you suggest? One team that are out of their depth, for whatever reason, in the league reflects badly on the whole league?
— Patrick Thomas (@Patrick40161494) October 1, 2020
Is that a new league record for biggest away win?
— Tom W Besford (@TomBesford98) September 30, 2020
The highest ever win was interestingly Stoke Gabriel 23-0 Liverton United on 21st September 2013 in the SWPL 1 East, the highest ever win in the SWPL Premier was Bodmin 13-0 Liverton on 27/4/13. That was until this season!

Biggest away win out of them all and Joke Gabriel almost have the record for most goals conceded already

Stoke Gabriel seem to have no stability and fluctuate from strength to weakness and back again with some regularity. Credit to the current boys in fulfulling fixtures. Other clubs have stabilised after a torrid time so it can happen.

Fear not red dogs, you might be shit at the minute but at least you don’t support Stoke Gabriel ?
All joking aside though it’s a shame to see any club in that state and I hope they can survive and begin to rebuild. pic.twitter.com/gjuy4yTc66

What on earth has happened there? Go to that area every year on holiday and watch Stoke Gabriel of they are at home when I am there. Sad to see but they seem to have a self destruct button in regular use.
