Alex Scott and Antony were sent off after tempers flare in the first half of the Real Betis v Bournemouth pre-season friendly.

It came on the 43rd minute, Nelson Deossa of Real Betis kicked the ball at Diakite, with Antony rushing in aggressively, shoved multiple players and then clashed with Alex Scott.

The game ended in a 2-2 draw, Manuel Pellegrini’s Real Betis levelled twice, with goals from Cucho Hernandez and Pablo Fornals, after Marcus Tavernier and Evanilson had twice put the Cherries ahead.

Bournemouth’s Marco Rose spoke to the club’s media: “Big challenge against the fifth of the Spanish league last season, Champions League team. And I think, yeah, we did well.

“We started with some problems. I think we had too many ball losses, but then we came better in our game. It’s always if we win balls, then we start to gain confidence.

“And I think we came better and better into this match. Then we scored our goal and we considered two really, really unlucky goals.

“So at the end, 10 against 10, it was like two boxers up and down. Yeah, I’m very pleased with the performance of the lads and now we have one game more to go and then we start.”

Interviewer: “Two very well crafted goals are well must have given you a lot of satisfaction?”

Marco: “Yeah I think the way we score the goals shows us that we are in a good direction with everything transition we won balls and second goal was ever before he got the cramp. Yeah, so last minute before he got substituted.

“Yeah, it’s important forever to score tough, play a really good game. So now we have to go home and do some recovering and then we start the next week, last game, last preparation game, Mainz. And then we are looking forward to start the season.”

Interviewer: “I know coaches don’t look too far ahead, but Cherry’s fans are very excited about being in the Europa League and this will certainly whet their appetite.”

Marco: “Yeah, even that’s why we were here to get into the mode, to have a flight, to have a late game like today. It was later than expected because of the heatings or special environment.

“And I think it was good for the whole staff to get to know how it works away in international situations. And again, I think we did really well. We were competitive and we have to continue like this as a club, as a team. And then again, I’m looking forward to have these kind of games.”

Interviewer: “And a flash point there at the end of the first half. Just ask for your view on that.”

Marco: “The flash point, the red card. Yeah, so he just showed me the situation. I mean, we talk about football and there were some players very close and tight and maybe we saw some hands on bodies, but there were nothing special and think even Betis didn’t want to play 10 against 10, so yeah, no good decision to be honest.”
