Newcastle fans ‘contact police’ after a Sunderland fans took to ‘vandalise’ an advertising hoarding for the Premier League.
The billboard showed off the Premier League being on NOW TV with the tagline ‘Every Match Matters’ but Black Cats fans took to some red paint and got to work after spotting a Newcastle player on it.
In a tweet, @ALS_Fanzine wrote: “Unfortunately an inappropriate ad hoarding featuring an unethical football club appeared outside our shop overnight. Thankfully volunteers from the Roker Revolutionary Front arrived this afternoon and carried out some restoration work 🙏”

Meanwhile, rival fans are also criticising Newcastle for hosting two international friendly for Saudi Arabia as the Green Falcons face Costa Rica on Friday, 8th of September and South Korea on Tuesday, 12th of September.
Newcastle’s public-facing link with Saudi Arabia often makes headlines having signed a shirt sponsorship deal worth £25m per year with state event company Sela, while also revealing a kit with a similar green as the Saudi flag.
Newcastle and the Premier League maintain that the club’s owners are separate from the Saudi state when the deal was completed.
Sacha Deshmukh, chief executive of Amnesty International, say that the decision to hold the international matches at Newcastle is another example of “how sportswashing works” and urge Eddie Howe, co-owner Amanda Staveley and others to “break their collective silence” on human rights issues in Saudi Arabia.
Back to the main story now and Newcastle fans ‘contact police’ in the replies section after seeing Sunderland fans ‘vandalise’ advertising hoarding…
@FrancisChipp: Nice work, can’t see them finishing top half now 💪
@leecartwright94: @northumbriapol hi some disturbing vandalism in our area which is very sad to see.
@DanielGarbutt: @northumbriapol
@Geordiespartan: Quite surprised they managed to spell FTM in the right order. Proud of you all
@tsmith_1892: Hahahahaha! Imagine being so rattled by a BILLBOARD 🤣 Be honest, lads, you really don’t care less about the Saudi state, morals/ethics etc. Only thing you’re arsed about is the beneficiaries rather than the origin of funds from the aforementioned country’s PIF.
@King_Kevs_Rant: Class that like, does that get you your first points of the season after being hammered off a newly promoted team and the mighty Preston? Or maybe it helps you sleep at night when you scream FTM into your pillow cos it’s all you can do to cope with the living nightmare you’re in?
@motleytoon1: Fancy getting wound up by a billboard…seriously though, we genuinely don’t regard you as rivals anymore so stop forcing it. I pay as much interest to someone in a mackem top as I would an Exeter one.
@KeithWhalen1969: I like it, after seven years out of the premier league many fans won’t remember what that feels like to play top-flight football. This way they can pretend they are still relevant.
@Robbo_1892: Get use to it over the coming years there’ll be kids running round the streets with Newcastle tops on over the water wishing they were Isak or Tonali. 😉
@Aiden1971: The comments from the mags man 🤣 you can clearly tell from the style of writing that it’s a tongue in cheek comment, yet they are still so insecure that they can’t see it. I’f it happened at Sid James’ they’d do the same I’m sure. Haway mags it’s a bit of banter ffs
@dancraw2: this can’t be real
@MorrisJohnSun: Honestly, this is so small time 😂. Who cares? It’s an advert.
@Martyquinn: Well done Banksy. 🐴
@ruddsx4: 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂zip up those winter coats fella it’s cold in our shadow
@MIICKYB1989: Ahh how pathetic 🤣🤣🤣
@markcostellouk: Painting red stripes onto an #nufc kit on a premier league advertising board is the clearest indication yet that #safc wish they were Newcastle 🤣🤣🤣
This comes after another few incidents similar to this recently, with Notts County spray painting messages around Mansfield while Chester did the same to Wrexham murals.
