24) LINCOLN
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Lincoln City to finish in 24th place (relegated) for the 2026/27 campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: “Skubala’s loss may be felt less in day-to-day practicality, but more in the optics of going into the Championship without the man that got you there. The Imps will give it everything, but the financial gulf is enormous.”
The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 10th place for the 2025/26 League One campaign – instead they finished as the champions.

23) BLACKBURN
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Blackburn Rovers to finish in 23rd place (relegated) for the 2026/27 Championship campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: “A low recruitment hit rate and two bottom-six finishes in three seasons suggest Blackburn’s structural issues are catching up with them – there’s only so long individual goalscorers and managers can bail you out.”

22) PORTSMOUTH
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Portsmouth to finish in 22nd place (relegated) for the 2026/27 Championship campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: “Pompey’s January business, in their two seasons up, has saved them from patchy summer windows and injury crises. That can’t continue to be relied on, but funds are tight and saleable assets few. It could get bumpy.

21) CHARLTON
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Charlton Athletic to finish in 21st place for the 2026/27 Championship campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: “Solid defensive foundations, plus a capacity for surprising one-off results thanks to an underdog spirit under Nathan Jones, could be enough to beat the drop – but a touch more open-play creativity is needed.”

20) BOLTON
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Bolton Wanderers to finish in 20th place for the 2026/27 Championship campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: “Bolton deserved promotion on performances last season, despite finishing fifth, and have added Ben Davies’ defensive nous. It won’t be easy without star man Cozier-Duberry, but they should secure survival.”

19) STOKE
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Stoke City to finish in 19th place for the 2026/27 Championship campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: “The Potters hope to end eight seasons of finishing between 14th and 18th, but could head the wrong direction. They have a good squad on paper, but 28 points from the last 32 games isn’t upward momentum…”

18) CARDIFF
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Cardiff City to finish in 18th place for the 2026/27 Championship campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: “It’s easier to trust Barry-Murphy than it is Cardiff as a structural entity, and their limitations may restrict progress. But there are some exciting baby Bluebirds on show – you can expect entertainment if nothing else.”

17) PRESTON
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Preston North End to finish in 17th place for the 2026/27 Championship campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: “North End should continue to punch above their weight, but may struggle to avoid a fifth bottom-half finish in seven seasons with infrastructural limits, plus the exit of loanees Dobbin and Alfie Devine.”
