Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott aims what is being called a brutal dig at Mason Greenwood and Man Utd fans via his Instagram account.
Elliott was trolled by a Red Devils supporter for getting with more women than he has goals this season, so the footballer hit back, mentioning Greenwood.
Elliott responded by saying at least he knows how to treat his girlfriends, “unlike some”, in what was clearly a reference to the Man Utd footballer amid ongoing allegations of domestic abuse against him.

Greenwood had been spending time in police custody with cops questioning and is currently suspended by United after grim videos emerged via his ex-girlfriend’s Instagram account.
Whilst a lot of social media makes fun for Mason, with tweets such as ‘Prison FC’ trending, it’s no laughing matter and a serious allegation.
Greenwood’s bail is due to expire on the 30th of April after his arrest on suspicion of rape, sexual assault and threats to kill.
The 20-year-old was taken in by police officers late January on suspicion of the rape and assault of a woman before officers were granted additional time to question him.
He was subsequently further arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and threats to kill, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed.
Three days after his initial arrest, Greenwood was released on bail and he remains the subject of an ongoing police investigation.
A GMP statement read: “A 20-year-old man arrested (on Sunday 30 January 2022) on suspicion of the rape and assault of a woman has been released on bail pending further investigation.”
Greenwood’s bail will expire on the 30th of April, GMP confirmed, at which point it could be extended.
He has been suspended by the club and has not played since the Premier League fixture against West Ham on the 22nd of January.
Greenwood has since been dropped by sponsors Nike following his arrest, removed from FIFA 22 by producers EA Sport and Cadbury, one of the Red Devils’ partners, have confirmed they will not use Greenwood as part of any marketing campaigns pending investigation.
They said in a statement: “Cadbury does not condone violence in any form. Our Partnership is with the club itself and not the individual players.
“However, while these allegations are being investigated, any marketing or products we create with Manchester United will not feature this player. We will continue to monitor the situation closely.”
Man Utd also reaffirmed their “strong condemnation” of violence after Greenwood was further arrested.
“We will not make any further comment until the facts have been established,” they said. “Manchester United does not condone violence of any kind.”
Greater Manchester Police confirmed Greenwood’s accuser has been offered “specialist support”.
Twitter users reacted as Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott aims a brutal dig at Mason Greenwood and Man Utd fans…
Think the simple message out of all this is Elliott needs media training or someone to manage his accounts. He can’t jeopardise his career and potential because of stupid, impulsive social media comments. Still evident maturity gaps.

@WeetabixA: This guy is definitely going to be washed up by his mid 20s
@elijahwh_: Bro needs a PR team😭😭
@RizAhmed98: He needs to relax on IG
@danielgeorgee: Very odd behaviour
@_MUFCJames: Harvey Elliot is genuinely weird, can’t stand him
@GarethWilmott: As much as this seems fun for a fan reading it he really does (@AGT79) need to focus on his football and swerve social media for a bit. Or maybe get some social media training under his belt.
@_MarkL33: Unless he wants people stirring up his own questionable personal history, I wish Harvey would stay quiet.
@mxrganhulme7: Elliot is a twat I’m not arsed. Why’s he tryna point score so unprofessional
@KJunkka: Stay classy Eliott
@aTribeCalledDan: this isn’t good. He needs media training.
@LoweMeJack: He thinks he’s still in secondary school 😭😭
@connorohrock: Needs to wind his neck in. Can’t ever fulfil potential if you have a mouth on you like that Harvey lad. Don’t rise to it and just pipe it.

Controlling or Coercive Behaviour
The offence closes a gap in the law around patterns of controlling or coercive behaviour that occurs during a relationship between intimate partners, former partners who still live together or family members. This offence sends a clear message that this form of domestic abuse can constitute a serious offence particularly in light of the violation of trust it represents and will provide better protection to victims experiencing repeated or continuous abuse. It sets out the importance of recognising the harm caused by coercion or control, the cumulative impact on the victim and that a repeated pattern of abuse can be more injurious and harmful than a single incident of violence.
