Girlfriend of Mason Greenwood accuses him of domestic violence and sexual assault

The girlfriend of Mason Greenwood accuses him of domestic violence and sexual assault against her, taking to Instagram to out him.

The footballer’s partner, Harriet Robson, blamed him for beating her up, taking to social media and posted pictures and videos of the bruises.

A captions she writes to the photos states the following: “To everyone who wants to know what mason greenwood actually does to me.”

The series of disturbing images clearly indicates a physical attack. She later posts an audio clip in which Greenwood was being abusive and threatening her.

A video / sound clip is also uploaded where it’s claimed that Greenwood forces to have sex with her.

The news has shocked Manchester United fanbase waking up on Sunday morning, as they fear what’s in store for the 20 year old.

It is all allegations and one side to the story at the minute, however it doesn’t look great for the player, especially to be publicly outed by his own partner.

Greenwood has been touted as one of the most promising talents coming from the Premier League club’s academy, with a bright future in front of him.

He has made 24 appearances in all competitions for the 2021/22 season, scoring six times, the last coming away at Brentford.

If there is any truth to the latest story, it is shocking and disgraceful behaviour that the club surely cannot and will not tolerate, putting his career in jeopardy. The club will surely investigate and try and figure out the details, but so far it looks bad for the Englishman.

Reports on Twitter claim that the Greater Manchester Police have been informed, but this has not as yet been confirmed.

CLUB STATEMENT:

“We are aware of images and allegations circulating on social media. We will not make any further comment until the facts have been established. Manchester United does not condone violence of any kind.”

Twitter users reacted as the girlfriend of Mason Greenwood accuses him of domestic violence and sexual assault…

@falsewinger: Mason Greenwood should not be on a football pitch for the foreseeable future. What his girlfriend has posted is beyond horrifying. No ‘two sides to the story’ defence for this cos the audio clip proves what he was doing. Another highly talented footballer going the wrong way…

@JAlvarez_SZN: Just woke up to hear that Mason Greenwood audio. Man Utd need to act fast and eradicate the situation. Disgusting behaviour, it’s sickening.

@DevilsTrident: This Mason Greenwood stuff is both disgusting and a massive can of worms for the club. Indefensible and utterly disappointing on so many levels.

@ConnSwales: That is disgusting from Mason Greenwood. Them audio recordings are horrific let alone the violence. Shouldnt be anywhere near a football pitch again

@Grayzer11: Mason Greenwood has a few questions to answer to this morning

@BlueKD_: It’s obviously innocent before proven guilty though it doesn’t look good for Mason Greenwood. Hope the investigation is unbiased & done in a timely manner.

Gov UK – Controlling or Coercive Behaviour

Controlling or coercive behaviour

The offence closes a gap in the law around patterns of controlling or coercive behaviour that occurs during a relationship between intimate partners, former partners who still live together or family members. This offence sends a clear message that this form of domestic abuse can constitute a serious offence particularly in light of the violation of trust it represents and will provide better protection to victims experiencing repeated or continuous abuse. It sets out the importance of recognising the harm caused by coercion or control, the cumulative impact on the victim and that a repeated pattern of abuse can be more injurious and harmful than a single incident of violence.

Martin Lewis: Financial abuse, joint accounts and managing money within relationships

Financial abuse is the hidden financial cousin of domestic abuse – it’s all about dangerous, unfair control using finances. It can be subtle or brutal. So be aware of it both for your own relationship, and for others – but this blog’s about more than that too…

The Freedom Programme

Helpline: 01942 262 270

www.freedomprogramme.co.uk

The Programme was primarily designed for women as victims of domestic violence, since research shows that in the vast majority of cases of serious abuse are male on female. However, the programme, when provided as an intensive two day course, is also suitable for men, whether abusive and wishing to change their attitudes and behaviour or whether victims of same sex domestic abuse themselves. The Freedom Programme examines the roles played by attitudes and beliefs on the actions of abusive men and the responses of victims and survivors. The aim is to help them to make sense of and understand what has happened to them, instead of the whole experience just feeling like a horrible mess. The Freedom Programme also describes in detail how children are affected by being exposed to this kind of abuse and very importantly how their lives are improved when the abuse is removed.
