Non league side Leighton Town have served a ban to all unaccompanied children from their home games, they revealed this week.
It comes after trouble broke out at the end of their FA Vase tie against Eynesbury Rovers earlier this month, which saw police having to be called. During the incident, pints were thrown and fans brawled on the pitch, as can be seen in the video below…

The Spartan League have since expressed their concern at the ‘crowd disturbances’ and now the home club have taken action to prevent trouble from happening again.
Leighton Town said on their club website: “In view of the unfortunate scenes at Eynesbury Rovers FC on 11th January at our FA Vase game
“The Executive Committee has decided that commencing from our home game against Wembley FC on Saturday (25th Jan). Under 18’s will only be admitted to games if accompanied by a responsible adult and adults may be asked for ID.
“There will be no admittance to the ground after 3:45 pm.”
Fans have given their reaction after finding out that Leighton Town have served a ban to all unaccompanied children from their home games…
As usual it’s the minority spoiling things for the majority. Hope those Leighton ‘fans’ that caused problems at the Vase game are proud of themselves, what big men they are.

Just ban the responsible people and not every unattended minor.

Also, a bit sad as watched @BedfordTown recently and choir choir behind the goal is made up of impeccably behaved youth team members under 18, so if other clubs tried to enforce this then they wouldn't bea allowed to attend. Also, they were the only ones making any noise.

Sad, given for responsible young adults it's a great way for them to have a independent past time that sets them on their way to adulthood.

Not a Leighton fan but if you think this is a good idea then football isn’t the sport for you.

I agree Gemma. Hopefully it is a short term policy while the investigations by the FA and league are on going. Find and ban those causing the trouble.

Looks like I'm in the minority here but I think this is great! Can't tell you how many times we've had our experience at games ruined by kids who've been allowed to run riot.

Great way to encourage the next generation of supporters?
— Chris Ross (@chro06) January 23, 2020
Very unfair on those who aren't causing trouble. Surely Leighton don't get crowds so large that they can't identify and ban those actually responsible?
— Haliborange Overdose (@Pessimisticoops) January 24, 2020
Not the way forward. Doubt if those that caused the problem at the cup game had ever been to a home game. Not very community minded, a knee jerk reaction.

That is a joke
