Jermaine Pennant taken OFF AIR by Sky Sports as viewers accuse him of being drunk

Jermaine Pennant was taken off air by Sky Sports News as viewers accuse him of being drunk, when his speaking was slurred.

Sportsmail have stated that Sky Sports confirmed to them that ‘the decision was taken to pull Pennant from the programme because his performance on-air failed to meet our production standards.’

The former Arsenal, Watford, Leeds, Birmingham, Liverpool, Pompey, Stoke, Wolves, Wigan, Bury and Billericay player was having trouble getting his words out and then could be heard ‘rambling’ answers when the panelists talking about Romelu Lukaku’s move to Inter Milan along with his time at Anfield.

He ended up being ignored by the panel for 15 minutes, and then during one of the advertisements, he was replace with journalist David Reed.

A Sky Sports Spokesman told Sportsmail: “Jermaine Pennant was a guest on Sky Sports News this morning. A decision by our production team was made to take Jermaine off the programme before its conclusion because his performance on-air failed to meet our production standards.”

Sky Sports refused to comment if the former Premier League player will be used as a panel guest in the future.

Just a handful of Twitter users picked up on Pennant’s slurred speech with one writing: “Is Jermaine Pennant drunk on Sky Sports News? Seems a bit off.”

Because of Pennant’s actions, and the fact that he is not contracted with Sky Sports it is said that he will not be appearing on the channel again.
