Leeds United wow their fans with their new home kit after being cheekily taunted over making Flamingo Land their new sleeve sponsor.
The club gearing up to the unveiling by revealing that the sponsor on the shirt’s sleeve would be Flamingo Land Resort theme park based in North Yorkshire.
But hundreds of Twitter users couldn’t help but troll the club with the post and response quickly going viral on Monday night.
🤝 #LUFC announce partnership with @flamingolanduk, who will become the club’s official sleeve partner
— Leeds United (@LUFC) July 10, 2023
CLUB STATEMENT:
Leeds United are delighted to announce a new and expanded partnership with Flamingo Land, who will become the official sleeve partner of the club from the beginning of the 2023/24 season.
The deal represents a landmark, with the Sky Bet Championship permitting official sleeve partners for the first time, during the upcoming campaign.
Flamingo Land returned as an official partner of the club last season, having been academy front of shirt partners for the 2011/12 season.
The new deal will see Flamingo Land branding feature on the sleeve of Leeds United men’s and women’s first teams, along with academy playing kits.
As Yorkshire’s ultimate theme park attraction, with an award winning zoo and luxury resort village, Flamingo Land is the perfect destination for family days out, holidays and short breaks.
Leeds United will work with Flamingo Land to drive brand awareness by executing bespoke partnership activation campaigns, along with providing exclusive fan offers for experiences at both Flamingo Land and Elland Road.
Gordon Gibb, CEO of Flamingo Land commented: “Flamingo Land first sponsored Leeds United’s Academy 13 years ago and have enjoyed a fantastic relationship with the club ever since. Flamingo Land remains committed to assisting and supporting regional sports from grassroots level to professional organisations. We are extremely proud to be on Leeds United’s new first team kit and wish the team all the very best in their efforts to get back to where this club belongs.”
Paul Bell, executive director at Leeds United added: “This is the first season the EFL have allowed clubs to obtain an official sleeve partner and we are delighted to have expanded our partnership with Flamingo Land. We look forward to working with Gordon and his team across the season and providing our supporters with some great offers to visit the attraction. ”
Fans can choose to replicate the first team playing kit by applying a colour matched Flamingo Land logo on the sleeve of the shirt. The club will apply this for free, when supporters choose to personalise their new home, away or third kits, in store, shortly after they go on sale.

Luckily for Leeds, they had what is being described as a belting new home kit to win fans back as preparations for life back in the second tier continue.
😍 Thoughts on our 23/24 home kit?
— Leeds United (@LUFC) July 11, 2023
The club add: “Leeds United and adidas have joined forces once again to unveil the highly anticipated home kit for the upcoming 2023/24 season.
“A timeless white shirt, the adidas stripes feature the classic royal blue and yellow, this is uniquely Leeds.
“The origins and history of our football club are beautifully represented in our new home kit. It pays homage to the club’s historic use of the peacock, with a custom pattern debossed throughout the fabric, and a peacock on the back neck.
“The peacock holds a special place in Leeds United and Elland Road history, with the peacock badge being worn in the early 1980’s, a time when the club was affectionately known as the Peacocks.”
