John Terry raises major concerns about Chelsea’s future and direction of the club

John Terry raises major concerns about Chelsea’s future and direction of the club following the sacking of Liam Rosenior.

The former Blues captain, who has been part-time mentoring role in Chelsea’s academy, and working with the club’s under-21 and under-18 players, took to TikTok, expressing his views on the current situation.

He also made his feelings very clear, gave a passionate speech, and said that he hasn’t been contacted in regarding to taking interim charge.

John Terry said: “Liam Rosenior sacked as Chelsea manager tonight, and Calum [McFarlane] is coming in again to take interim charge for the Leeds game in the FA Cup at Wembley the weekend in a must-win game.

“But firstly, we need to address certainly recent run of performances and results. Clearly not good enough. Five games in the Premier League without a win and five games without scoring a goal.

“I have to say watching that game last night, after minute one, they was on the front foot. They were better than us. They were up for it. They wanted the game more.

“They go and score from a set piece from a corner that could have easily been dealt with and it wasn’t. We didn’t look like scoring all night. We didn’t look together.

“So things need to really click and come together very quickly because we have a really important run of games. We obviously have the FA Cup the weekend, but Champions League football looks out of reach at the moment.I have to say in the form we’re in, European football is going to be a real struggle as well.

“But beyond last night, beyond the recent five games and whatever that may be. I sit here worrying tonight of what’s gonna happen with our football club because I’m looking at us needing the manager after the weekend. I’m not sure when ownership are gonna make their decision and bring a new manager in. But is a real top manager gonna come to Chelsea Football Club at the moment in the position we’re in?

“Can’t buy players, looking like we’re gonna have to sell potentially and that’ll be our best players, which is always tough. Will not be playing in European football. I hope I’m wrong in that, but yeah, really, really frustrated and worried more importantly.

“So, feel the anger, feel the frustration of the Chelsea supporters, but listen, I’ve seen 17 managers in my era come and go as Chelsea captain, and what the players will have to do is just get together, focus, and really focus on the weekend’s game, and forget all the kind of noise around everything.

“We have a massive game as well and it’s really, really difficult but it’s really easy to do as well as players. just, you know, forget the noise and concentrate on what’s ahead of you and that’s the Leeds game the weekend.

“So, massive rivalry between the two clubs. I’m not sure what Calum’s backroom staff is going to look like. I’ve not had a call, I’ve not had a message. I will be continuing my role in the academy. I’ll be in the academy tomorrow. We’ve got a big couple of games coming up.

“But listen, we’ll all get behind Callum. He’s done a great job at Man City away previously. And we’ll get right behind the boys because that’s what we do. And we’ve seen this time and time and time again.

“But maybe the future isn’t as clear as we’ve always seen. Guys, let me know your thoughts. I’m really interested to hear feedback from the fans at the moment. And I’m sure you guys are as frustrated as me because last night was f*cking tough to watch, I have to say.”

Back in February, John Terry also expressed frustration at being overlooked for the Chelsea interim role following the departure of Enzo Maresca, saying he “should have been a part” of the caretaker group that took charge of the draw at Man City.

Earlier this week, talkSPORT’s Andy Jacobs claimed that Terry would have agreed a temporary role, but, the club’s hierarchy have made it clear ‘in no uncertain terms’ that he will never manage the team.

‘Every Chelsea fan would love John Terry to come in until the end of the season,’ Jacobs said.

‘I’ve been told he wanted to do it, but I’ve been told they didn’t want him.

‘And they told him in no uncertain terms that he will never, ever get the job.’

Here’s the fan reaction after John Terry raises major concerns about Chelsea’s future and direction of the club…

@CFCSean96: Wish the useless owners would swallow their pride and get him in the dressing room some how he’d install a bit of fight and passion in 5 minutes

@_ShuBhamCFC: For me the greatest footballer in our history. The reason he’s never gone after the ownership is because he always had 1% hope he would get offered a role at the club. And still they ignore him. The JT I know would shred them to pieces seeing how they’ve killed his football club

@AndySco67625701: It says it all @JohnTerry26 when you state you haven’t been called. Why not? One of our best ever leaders, won it all, surely you in the dressing room on the bench for this must win save our season game would be inspirational and to me common sense. We need you. KTBFFH 😎

@fm_wonderkids: He’s distraught cause he loves the club through & through. I’d love to see him in the amongst the staff in the 1st team under the new manager. Assistant or maybe a coach. Just that voice & leadership in the dressing room

@kathrynmk: Well said JT – we need an Elite coach to manage tactics and tantrums – we need players to step up and take responsibility, play for the badge at Wembley – track back and stop whinging. FS – what a mess …

@geomedjr: The owners would be wise to have JT join Callum’s staff. His sheer presence in the dressing room will carry the team through rest of the season.

@cfc_fielder: You hear this and just kinda have to ask yourself why he isnt just interim for the remainder of the season. He will instantly command respect of the room and just give some stability.

@JRT0809: Should be on the bench and in the dressing room with McFarlane till the end of the season, find it crazy how he’s not been in contention considering he’s been Chels since day 1

@mattgallan: JT would have been ideal interim manager to get us through until end of season. Can teach us how to defend and at least show some fight

@ShedEndTom1982: 🚨 I’m devastated listening to my Captain, Leader, Legend’s words. Why the f*ck are these owners freezing JT out? Absolute wankers! Big Up to JT for speaking his mind! ✊💙

@Lukeyboy_CFC: He’s just get it, unbelievable they didn’t even consider him on interim basis
