“But you’re, listen, listen. You, you f*cking have filmed me because you’re f*cking w*nker. You’ve got f*ck all to know about the working class man you have.

And now Gary has spoken of it for the first time.

VIDEO: Man confronts Gary Neville in public and calls him a ‘w*nker’ in abusive rant

While on the latest episode of The Overlap, Gary said: Keep bringing Scouse in, they hate me. Well done, mate. Keep going.

Roy: They don’t have to be Scousers now.

Gary: Do you see that?  I went to watch James with Roy.It was a brilliant concert. So I walked to the concert and then the guy just starts going

Ian: With the misses as well. you’re standing with them.

Gary: That’s the bit for me I think that’s wrong. I think to be fair, it’s the first time it’s happened like that. But when you’re with your when you’re with your wife, you think…

Ian: Yeah. Cuz Gary, you stayed quiet on that one. Did that bother you for, because we was talking, weren’t we, Jill? Did that bother you for the rest of the evening. Was you like, “Should I…?”

Gary. No

Roy: I know that’s what I’m saying. You were fine obviously at the concert.

Gary: No. I forget about stuff like that.

Jill: Did it not annoy you? I feel like it would annoy me for the rest of the night.

Ian: That was a mean one. Watched it. That’s just horrible. I don’t know how I’d react to that.

Gary: Do you know what I should have done? I made the mistake I made. should have filmed him. You should have because no one can see who he is. Yeah, know what I mean? And I think he if id have filmed him, he might not have put it out. I don’t know. But yeah, he had quite a I’m not going to say this. I’m presuming it was had a really aggressive dog with him on the lead and I thought and I thought he was going to let the dog go. You know what I mean? I thought it was one of them where he’s going to go like that. You know what I mean? Because I thought, yeah.

Jill: But to approach you in the street and start swearing, I just think like, like people can have difference of opinions or whatever, but I just think like it was so out of order. If I’d been, I would have hit him.

Roy: I’ll leave him do. Let him go back to a skip. Have a good night’s sleep. You were saying…

Jill: “Yeah. No, cuz I was saying that when Man United played Newcastle Cup final. Well, we just played at Wembley like for the Euros final and I think that was the last time I’ve been at Wembley and I was walking and obviously my brother’s a Newcastle fan and these two lads just come up. He had a scarf on. Went to punch him and I just seen red and I’m running chasing these two lads like past Wembley and people are like looking at us and I’m thinking if I get there I think I would have just hit them and anyway the police like intervened and they missed the game and everything but it ruined the whole game for us that whole final it just ruined it because you know when you’ve got that nervous energy so that’s why I was asking if it but you’re obviously better at controlling your emotions.

Ian: Yeah. You didn’t react like you did with our man who kicked the ball at the kid.

Gary: No, I’ve calmed down in life in the last 21 years.

Ian: You learned. You learned from the mistake. It’s good.

Here’s the social media reaction before Gary Neville opens up on being confronted with verbal abuse by a man while walking with his wife…

@paulwardle19: It’s absolutely disgusting! If you think this is ok you’re a wrong un!!

@stupot_07: It’s disgraceful. Whether you like the guy or not, abusing him in the street minding his own business with his wife is completely out of order.

@pouchyboy71: The brave boy filming abusing a guy walking with his wife. He wanted Gary to kick off so he’d get more social media views. Utter scumbag!!

@dannyman1609: Well. What a lowlife. Following a man down the street repeating that he’s a w*nker without explanation and scaring his wife. Well done.

@borocaroline: I’m sorry I can see nothing funny or clever about a man, out with his wife/friend whoever being abused in the street by someone who is obviously an utter moron

@leeatherton4: Can’t stand w*nkers that do this just for attention.

@LESLEYLONDON: Sums up all that’s wrong with society! Pathetic specimen of a so called man! The abuser that is! Not Gary & his wife!

@MUFCJay2: Nah fuck that, leave the guy and his wife alone you pathetic losers.

@Johnfis08605918: Don’t agree with this one bit. There are ways to conduct yourself in public and this isn’t one of them. I’m not a fan of @GNev2 but this is bang out of order.

@traceynev: 😢 situations like these are truly scary and I can assure you they are not delightful 💔

@thepaulwilliams: Such a coward doing this to a man out walking with his wife. There are some pitiful people out there.
