Hilarious moment sees England players laugh at cocky Tammy Abraham stacking it pre-match

A hilarious moment prior to Tuesday’s Nations League game sees England players laugh at cocky Tammy Abraham stacking it pre-match.

The Roma player ended up falling on his backside, leading to fans teasing that this was a possible reason as to why he was an unused substitute.

Performing some ball-juggling skills, Tammy stepped on the ball and quickly fell backwards, ending up on the floor and team-mates Jude Bellingham, Reece James and Conor Coady couldn’t help but cry with laughter.

As can be seen in the viral clip, Reece James couldn’t believe it with his hand over his mouth while Trent Alexander-Arnold was more stunned.

Jude Bellingham burst out laughing into the arms of his teammates and Conor Coady was left in stitches to the point his face went all red.

Tammy eventually got back to his feet after his failed attempt of an around the world before getting ball tangled in his feet, then saw the funny side of the situation.

Abraham earned his place in the Three Lions squad having scored 27 goals in all competitions for AS Roma this season, but also didn’t feature against Hungary with England failing to win the first two matches of the international break.

England will continue their Nations League campaign on Saturday against Italy before taking on Hungary next Tuesday, still searching for an important three points as Southgate side sit bottom of the group.

Speaking exclusively to talkSPORT host Adrian Durham, Gareth Southgate insists England have proved they are an attacking team over the course of his reign when questioned if his approach is positive enough: “Well, we’ve been the highest scorers in Europe over the last year and goals per game, because we obviously ended up playing more games because we made it to the final [of Euro 2020]. But on goals per game I think that only the Dutch scored more.

“I know there always appears to be this narrative that we’re cautious or whatever, but if the measure is scoring goals then we’ve been better than anybody else.

“I just have to accept that that’s part and parcel of sitting in this seat really.

“I think that the bigger thing the other day was the amount of changes perhaps and the need to keep some freshness for the game against Germany as well.

“You have to ride that as a manager. There are certain times where you still pick a team that is good enough to win the game and it is higher risk if you leave some more experienced players out. But what you learn from those games about the other players and about the whole group is still really important for the growth of the team.”

Arsenal are reported to be among the clubs keen on bringing Abraham back to the Premier League, with Roma wanted at least £67million.

The striker appears to have his eyes on another club, after telling Trent Alexander-Arnold he was joining Liverpool for Three Lions training last week.

Abraham told the Reds’ right-back: “I’m joining you guys next season.”
