FourFourTwo predicts the 2023/24 League Two table

Check out more of FourFourTwo’s predicted League Two table for 2023/24 below…

8) BRADFORD

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 8th place for the 2023/24 campaign.

FFT VERDICT: Tying down top goalscorer Andy Cook was great business by Bradford City, but it’s a topheavy squad that was carried at times last year by a handful of star individuals.  They must forget the League Two play-off semi-final defeat to Carlisle United quickly, with midfielders Kevin McDonald and Alex Pattison snapped up by manager Mark Hughes in a bid to get to League One.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 4th place for the 2022/23 League Two campaign – instead they finished 6th.

7) MK DONS

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 7th place for the 2023/24 campaign.

FFT VERDICT: Last time MK Dons dropped down to League Two, they appointed an experienced manager and made a statement signing early in the window, winning promotion at the first attempt in 2018/19. It’s the same again this time, with Alex Gilbey returning to the fold and Graham Alexander stepping into the managerial hotseat. Same result?

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 3rd place for the 2022/23 League One campaign – instead they finished 21st.

6) SALFORD

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 6th place for the 2023/24 campaign.

FFT VERDICT: Despite achieving a top-seven League Two finish at the fourth attempt, Salford City have had to make cutbacks as stalwart Ibou Touray departs, though Luke Garbutt is a decent replacement. Manager Neil Wood must get more out of his resources to oversee another promotion bid, something the Class of ’92 are desperate to happen.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 6th place for the 2022/23 League Two campaign – instead they finished 7th.

5) DONCASTER

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 5th place for the 2023/24 campaign.

FFT VERDICT: Donny prepared for this season showing greater intent than last, with the statement reappointment of McCann, plus standout signings including right-back Jamie Sterry and frontman Joe Ironside. It appears a Doncaster Rovers return to League One could be in the offing this term, but they’ll have to beat some heavyweight League Two sides to make that a reality.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 11th place for the 2022/23 League Two campaign – instead they finished 18th.

4) GILLINGHAM

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 4th place (relegated) for the 2023/24 campaign.

FFT VERDICT: Two wins and seven goals in the first 23 games of last season, 12 and 29 in the second: no coincidence those returns sandwiched the Galinsons’ takeover of Gillingham. The arrival of Wales midfielder Jonny Williams, fresh from 10 Swindon goals last term, adds to the drastic progress, and many are expecting Gillingham to challenge at the top of League Two.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 13th place for the 2022/23 League Two campaign – instead they finished 17th.

3) NOTTS COUNTY

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 3rd place for the 2023/24 campaign.

FFT VERDICT: The swashbuckling Magpies bagged a whopping 107 National League points and are superbly coached by Luke Williams. Meanwhile, David McGoldrick’s return to Meadow Lane represents League Two’s standout capture, while goalkeeper Aidan Stone is a good signing from League One Port Vale. With their squad, Notts County will certainly challenge at the sharp end of the division.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 2nd place for the 2022/23 National League campaign – and that they got correct.

2) WREXHAM

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 2nd place for the 2023/24 campaign.

FFT VERDICT: After decades of dismay, Wrexham fans now have a team to believe in, thanks to their beloved Hollywood owners. It might not be 111 points this time, especially with razor-sharp finisher Paul Mullin set to miss the start of the season through injury, but the Red Dragons still have the budget and momentum to go straight through League Two.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 1st place for the 2022/23 National League campaign – and that they got correct.

1) STOCKPORT

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 1st place for the 2023/24 campaign.

FFT VERDICT: Dave Challinor’s side like to play forward early with quality, then build: it’s proven a great template in League Two, and poaching left-back Ibou Touray from Salford will only improve an already deep squad. It’s certainly ominous for the rest of the league in what looks like being another strong season for Stockport County.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 2nd place for the 2022/23 League Two campaign – instead they finished 4th.
