FourFourTwo predicts the 2023/24 League Two table

Check out more of FourFourTwo’s predicted League Two table for 2023/24 below…

16) TRANMERE

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 16th place for the 2023/24 campaign.

FFT VERDICT: After a disappointing mid-table finish last term, Tranmere Rovers need inspiration. New faces Regan Hendry in midfield, plus poachers Dennis and Luke Norris, may provide it with their promotion-winning know-how, but internally-appointed gaffer Ian Dawes will have to prove himself in League Two before anyone starts singing his praises.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 8th place for the 2022/23 League Two campaign – instead they finished 12th.

15) COLCHESTER

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 15th place for the 2023/24 campaign.

FFT VERDICT: With fresh investment, an exciting, young crop and a talented coach in Ben Garner, progress is likely at Colchester United, though. How much depends on whether Noah Chilvers and Junior Tchamadeu can be replaced if they leave, with Ossama Ashley already departed. Ellis Iandolo has added valuable experience from Swindon Town, however, so it’s not all doom and gloom at the League Two side.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 22d place for the 2022/23 League Two campaign – instead they finished 20th.

14) FOREST GREEN

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 14th place for the 2023/24 campaign.

FFT VERDICT: A soft touch in League One last season, Forest Green Rovers are planning their rebuild around athleticism and physicality: signing defender Ryan Inniss and ex-Crawley Town loanee Teddy Jenks should help the side become tougher customers, but that losing feeling is hard to shake. If they are to make any sort of recovery in League Two, they’ll need to hit the ground running.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 20th place for the 2022/23 League One campaign – instead they finished 24th.

13) ACCRINGTON

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 13th place for the 2023/24 campaign.

FFT VERDICT: Everest results with a Mariana Trench budget was never going to last forever, and Accrington Stanley suffered their first relegation of Coleman’s 22 seasons in charge.  This rebuild as they head into League Two looks tricky – with a bloated squad it’s been hard to recruit, but skipper Seamus Conneely’s new deal is a positive. An immediate return to the third tier is unlikely, but don’t write them off too early.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 14th place for the 2022/23 League One campaign – instead they finished 23rd.

12) GRIMSBY

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 12th place for the 2023/24 campaign.

FFT VERDICT: After overseeing the Mariners’ best FA Cup run in 84 years, Paul Hurst needs to convert the underdog template into one that will give them the consistency to challenge in League Two, which requires different strengths. Former Stevenage striker Danny Rose is a superb signing for Grimsby Town, though, but the play-offs could prove just out of reach.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 18th place for the 2022/23 League Two campaign – instead they finished 11th.

11) BARROW

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 11th place for the 2023/24 campaign.

FFT VERDICT: The Bluebirds impressed with their high-octane style last season, but missed out on the League Two play-offs. Now David Worrall has joined to offer extra creativity and Dean Campbell some youthful Scottish brio, they could get stronger under talented boss Pete Wild.  The league will likely improve in quality, too, so while Barrow will target the play-offs, another top-half finish would still signal progress.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 19th place for the 2022/23 League Two campaign – instead they finished 9th.

10) SWINDON

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 10th place for the 2023/24 campaign.

FFT VERDICT: After a youth-centred, director of football-led approach for the first two years of Clem Morfuni’s ownership, Michael Flynn’s appointment at Swindon Town suggests a change of tack. Swindon seek a quick route out of League Two, but may compromise developmental and stylistic principles in pursuit.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 7th place for the 2022/23 League Two campaign – instead they finished 10th.

9) MANSFIELD

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 9th place for the 2023/24 campaign.

FFT VERDICT: Indeed, League Two’s bridesmaids have had four promotion challenges in the past six seasons thanks to the Radfords’ investment, without success. Mansfield Town need defender Baily Cargill, who has arrived from Forest Green, fit if they’re to wear the white dress this time around.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 1st place for the 2022/23 League Two campaign – instead they finished 8th.
