16) BRISTOL CITY
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 16th place for the 2023/24 campaign.
FFT VERDICT: Defensive additions should strengthen City, so if Anis Mehmeti can provide fresh magic while the talented Tommy Conway builds on 2022-23’s double figure goal tally then progress is possible – but so it stagnation if their various veterans drop off. And will Alex Scott stay?
The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 18th place for the 2022/23 Championship campaign – instead they finish 14th.
15) STOKE
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 15th place for the 2023/24 campaign.
FFT VERDICT: This looks like (another) rebuilding season for the Potters, who have had change in every department bar the manager. Beginning their preparations with a wafer-thin squad, a challenging start is likely, but things will pick up if teenage prodigy Emre Tezgel catches fire.
The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 13th place for the 2022/23 Championship campaign – instead they finish 16th.
14) SWANSEA
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 14th place for the 2023/24 campaign.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 8th place for the 2022/23 Championship campaign – instead they finish 10th.
13) HULL
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 13th place for the 2023/24 campaign.
FFT VERDICT: With just six defeats in 28 from Liam Rosenior’s appointment, and some of those without a striker, hopes are high on Humberside. Progress is likely, though it might be modest if last year’s goalscoring troubles persist. If so, will Rosenior be given the time he deserves?

12) NORWICH
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 12th place for the 2023/24 campaign.
FFT VERDICT: The Canaries look mentally drained and need an overhaul, yet the kind required isn’t feasible after a slump to 13th. At least new/old faces Ashley Barnes and Shane Duffy will bring experience, while Jack Stacey is a neat pick-up and Gabriel Sara will provide individual quality again.

9) MILLWALL
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 9th place for the 2023/24 campaign.
FFT VERDICT: Having shipped only 178 goals in 171 games under Gary Rowett’s leadership, the Lions should be reliable at the back again. Playoff hopes rest on whether star signing Zian Flemming can deliver on that difficult second album – and if Millwall can keep him to find out
