8) SWANSEA

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted the Swans to finish in 8th place for the 2022/23 campaign.

FFT VERDICT: Last summer, Russ Martin had just six days to get his side accustomed to his methods before the opening weekend. With such an extreme, possession-heavy style, a complete pre-season boosts top-six hopes – and incoming MK Dons defender Harry Darling knows the drill well.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 5th place for the 2021/22 Championship campaign – instead they finished 15th.

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted the Clarets to finish in 6th place (playoffs) for the 2022/23 campaign.

FFT VERDICT: There may be teething problems: a centre-back partnership of six years’ standing has been replaced by three very young defenders. But with Twine intending to embrace the step up under the motivational new manager Kompany’s Carets could end up being some prospect.

5) WEST BROM

4) WATFORD

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted the Hornets to finish in 4th place (playoffs) for the 2022/23 campaign.

FFT VERDICT: Watford bounced straight back up in 2020-21 but this squad doesn’t naturally fit the 3-4-1-2 preferred by their incoming manager, and business has been slow. Crucially, however, Edwards has the required people skills to keep everybody positive if things don’t click quickly.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 19th place and relegated for the 2021/22 Premier League campaign – that, they got correct.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 18th place and relegated for the 2021/22 Premier League campaign but ended up finishing 20th.

1) MIDDLESBROUGH

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Boro to finish in 1st place (champions and promoted) for the 2022/23 campaign.
